The fair will not take place this year

Blizzard Entertainment has bad news for fans. This year, BlizzCon will not be held. But you still have plans.

As a rule, Blizzard Entertainment holds a BlizzCon every year to offer fans something and present news about their games. However, the company operates in the evening hours announcedthat the event will be canceled this year.

Accordingly, BlizzCon will be approached a little differently. And after having implemented other event formats in the past, they promise that BlizzCon will “take place again in the coming years”.

Big plans for the coming months

Nonetheless, more information about the releases will be revealed in the coming months. Accordingly, the first expansion for “Diablo 4” called “Vessel of Hatred” and “World of Warcraft: The War Within” will be the focus of interest.

That’s why they also have “some exciting plans for other trade fairs and conventions” that they would like to present in the near future. Among other things, Blizzard Entertainment will be represented at gamescom.

For the hero shooter “Overwatch”, the Champions Series at DreamHack Dallas and DreamHack Stockholm is just around the corner. As part of other events, they would like to celebrate, among other things, the 30th anniversary of “Warcraft”. These will take place both on site and in the games.

The official statement states:

“While these events will be very different from BlizzCon, we will use our combined creativity and ingenuity to ensure they have the same celebratory and collaborative atmosphere.”

Blizzard on the official site

Additionally, Blizzard Entertainment will broadcast live streams of relevant events to keep all fans up to date. The company is at least looking forward to seeing fans both in person and virtually.

With BlizzCon canceled this year, this is the second iconic trade show to drop from the calendar. After the E3 was officially buried a few months ago, one of the biggest fan fairs in the industry is now coming. Accordingly, we will have to wait and see how BlizzCon returns in the future and how the exhibition area will fare. Gamescom will continue to open its doors in Cologne in August and welcome players from all over the world.

As soon as more information about Blizzard Entertainment's upcoming plans is revealed, we will update you.
