King Charles soon draws his sword, but for Christopher Nolan it's a reason to celebrate: the British-American director of films like Inception, The Dark Knight and Oppenheimer knighted.

His wife Emma Thomas is given the same honor that in the same breath is elevated to the status of a lady – like BBC reported.

Nolan and Thomas owe this honor to their contributions to the film industry: While Christopher Nolan can now look back on directing twelve films, Thomas was involved as a producer on a large proportion of them.

In Great Britain, awards of this type are given at the suggestion of the government. As soon as the ceremony has taken place, the film duo is allowed to meet Sir Christopher Nolan and lady Emma Thomas to name. Both met as students at university in London, married in 1997 and now have four children together.

Just a few weeks ago, Nolan was awarded the first Oscar of his career for Oppenheimer. The film about that Father of the atomic bomb was able to gross over 960 million worldwide in 2023 on a budget of 100 million US dollars (via Box Office Mojo).

What kind of film Christopher Nolan will make next?

Of course, Nolan previously directed critically and commercially successful films such as the Dark Knight trilogy, Prestige, Inception, Interstellar and Dunkirk. The director is currently working on his next filmwhich is loud Variety about a new edition of the British TV series The Prisoner from the 60s.

What is The Prisoner about? In it, Patrick McGoohan played a former secret agent who is kidnapped into a seemingly idyllic village. However, this is a kind of prison in which the ex-agent number 6 is supposed to be made to reveal the reason for his resignation from the secret service.

It is currently unknown when Nolan and Thomas' latest film will be released in cinemas. It is very likely that the two filmmakers will then be able to be addressed as Sir and Dame.
