I have one this year too
Games Devlopers Conference successfully completed. My first one, if memory serves, was in 1991. That was then
GDC still quite manageable, with around 800 participants and only one location. This year there were around 30,000 people in San Francisco again and the trade fair is now spread across several halls – and especially across various hotels in the area around the show. Fortunately, I no longer have meetings every 30 minutes, but can comfortably roll from one hotel to the next to the next meeting.

A special highlight this year was the invitation to Old Fogey's Night, a meeting of old and particularly deserving playmakers – or was it the other way around? In any case, the initiator thought I was particularly old or worthy enough to take part. The meeting with the Golden Oldies exceeded my wildest expectations – I am still very touched and feel honored to have been accepted into this illustrious circle. In addition to a lot of old acquaintances like Bob Bates, Noah Falstein, Steve Meretzky, Eric Goldberg and of course Louis Castle there was a reunion with BattleTech inventor Jordan Weismanwho I first met in the early 1990s. David Mullich (Heroes of Might and Magic) was there as well Mark Caldwell (Might & Magic 2)…
