Gus, the master of the place, organizes a party with a woman as a reward. Thinking it was his sweetheart, Leslie went to fight but was corrected. He therefore asks you to participate in his place to win and thus free his wife. Then go down the ladder next to it and talk to the arena manager.

Gus's party

Gus's party breaks down into five fights. In each fight, a member of the imposed team must fight alone. Generally speaking, and to give yourself the best chance, equip your best purple materia as well as the Heal materia. Then adjust the rest of the build according to the enemies to beat. The festivities begin with Yuffie.

Yuffie's fight

The shinobi must face two Valrons. Winged creatures are vulnerable to ice so equip Yuffie with the associated materia, even if she has her Ice Ninjutsu or the Frozen Chain skill in the worst case. Watch out for the Mega-Gravity attack which divides the number of remaining HP by four.

Aerith's fight

Concerning our favorite florist, two Bombos must be defeated. Just like the previous fight, ice spells are your best allies. However, given the bombos' ability to not leave you alone, the fight can quickly turn into hell. Fortunately, there is a technique that makes the fight extremely simple.

Equip a Fire materia combined with Elemental Affinity to a double slot on your bracelet. If Elemental Affinity is at least level 2, fire attacks will do absolutely nothing to you. At level 3, they will even heal you. Immune and making a Sacred Seal appear on the ground, allowing you to cast two spells for the price of one, the bombs then become almost harmless.

Barret's fight

Barret faces two Zemzeletts. Also vulnerable to ice, they become weakened by suffering damage during Rhythm Storm. Remember not to miss the boat because following this attack they will fly away and rush at you regularly.

So keep one or even two bars of ATB in reserve while waiting for this attack to be launched, then fire a Big Shock followed by a Combustible Shock to Shock a Zemzelett. Do the same for the other Zemzelett and that's it.

Tifa's fight

Tifa must face a modified Reaper. No secret, equip yourself with a Lightning materia, if possible with Area of Effect, to target the arms of the machine, and/or coupled with Elemental Affinity, equipped on your weapon, so that all your attacks have a bonus elemental damage die. Lightning spells definitely weaken the Reaper so don't hesitate to use them.

Cloud's fight

Last stop of Gus's party, Cloud faces a Joker, undisputed champion of the master of the place. The Joker bases his attacks via Soul Suction, a melee technique which, if it hits, allows him to summon a card whose effects depend on the figure drawn, in addition to the damage caused by the suction . So, Heart heals him and Spades inflicts damage on you. But above all, watch out for the Joker card which reduces your HP to 1.

To successfully complete this fight, you must succeed in dodging several Soul Suctions in a row so that he can launch Soul Shout, which will weaken him. Then take advantage of this moment to increase the Shock bar via the Piercing Shock skill. Act quickly because the Fragility is brief. Note that he also becomes weakened when his HP is low and he becomes enraged. By being careful and once the Shock has been inflicted, the fight should not last too long.

In case of victory, Gus gives you your “reward” and, in a final attempt to enlist Cloud in his dubious business, Tifa puts him back in place and promises to come back to celebrate him if necessary. Outside, Leslie joins you and indicates that the woman kept captive by Gus is not his wife. Disappointed but not dejected, Leslie offers you a Codex Martial Arts Techniques VI for Tifa and sets off again to find his fiancée.

The quest ends and you also leave with 2600 Exp, 10 Team Exp and an affinity increase with Tifa.
