The Best Resonators in Wuthering Waves: A Tier List

Wuthering Waves, like other gatchas, tends to associate the rarity of hunters with their power. Keep in mind that a Tier List remains subjective and that opinions may differ depending on affinities, construction of the build and experience with the characters. This Tier List, like many others, will evolve over time, when new Resonators or new balancing updates are deployed in the game.

However, if you are looking for the best characters to obtain in Wuthering Waves, find below the individual ranking of Resonators according to the role they have been assigned for open world exploration and in-game instances.

The different Tier Lists that you will find below come from data collected during the different beta phases of Wuthering Waves. This is why the latter may be modified in the near future in order to better correspond to the official release data.

Tier list of DPS type resonators in Wuthering Waves

Below, you will find all the characters who hold the role of “main dps”. They are made to inflict heavy damage on opponents and will not be of any help to buffing allies.

S | Jiyan

A | Again / Calcharo

B | Nomad / Danjin / Lingyang

C | Chixia / Aalto

• Jiyan is the DPS par excellence. It benefits from an excellent set which allows it to have the greatest attack power of all the resonators. In addition to its monstrous damage, it is able to group opponents together to eliminate them more quickly. There is no one better than him as the management and execution of his skills are simple and powerful.

• Again has a very interesting set: initially at a distance, she can also inflict melee damage after using her ultimate. Although it is easy to handle, it remains very weak against bosses. Hence Tier A.

• Calcharo is one of the characters who inflict the most damage, thanks to his sequences. He benefits from a set that allows him to chain together numerous combos, giving him a certain mobility and ability to inflict heavy damage. Although he is not top tier, you can be happy to have him on your team.

• Danjin benefits from a very particular set: she consumes her life points to use her skills. Although this style of play is very risky, especially when we struggle to keep our characters alive, it is nevertheless devastating. Handling this berserker-like character is complex, which has earned him his current ranking. However, if you manage to survive, you can estimate that Danjin is in Tier A, and without any hesitation.

• Ling Yang is able to fly, which makes him a good character to get a new dimension of combat. On the other hand, this feature can be very disconcerting, especially for dodging. Even though he has an excellent set and very good striking power, Lingyang cannot match Calcharo or Encore.

• Chixia is useful for the beginning of the game, but you should not hesitate to remove it from your team when you have another DPS in your hands. Although she is easy to play, her area of ​​expertise is single targets, which won't be ideal for combat. It has very little survivability and is relatively slow compared to other DPS. Thus, Chixia will be at most a temporary help.

• Aalto has a relatively interesting and fun ranged set to play, but his ultimate costs way too much. Additionally, his skills don't live up to expectations, to the extent that they seem completely useless compared to the other characters. It is interesting for troubleshooting, but you will quickly have to summon other characters to try to obtain better ones.

• Yinlin is one of the best characters in the game and for two reasons: the power of his attacks and the quality of his buffs. Yinlin is very easy to learn and the sequence of its combos is executed with great ease. All the improvements that you will be able to make on this character will allow him to gain more power.
• Yinlin is not yet available in the game. Our data comes from Closed Beta 2 and community feedback.

• Mortefi is a great character to assist characters who use heavy attacks. He adapts perfectly to Jiyan's style of play and his sequences make him even more formidable. It grants bonuses to all allies every time it hits an opponent, which makes it really interesting.

• Sanhua is the resonator which benefits from the best concerto rotation speed. Her speed allows her to inflict heavy damage and her low cost makes her a pretty good resonator to start with.

• Yuanwu Could have been interesting, except his attack power and the usefulness of his upgrades are totally overshadowed by Yinlin power. Although she is not yet available, Yuanwu will not be able to compete with her, nor with Mortefi.

• Yang Yang is not the best resonator in the game as she does not have a relevant set. It is slow, does not provide any notable improvement and inflicts very little damage compared to its colleagues. It nevertheless remains useful for beginners, but prefer another character to progress.

And finally, in this last category, you will find all the characters who hold the role of healer. They are defensive supports and have very little appetite for combat.

• Verina is the caregiver and buffeuse par excellence. In addition to providing notable healing and buffs, Verina is able to prevent resonators from dying. It is very easy to learn and is very fast in combat. Verina has very few, if any, negatives. If you need a caregiver, you can count on her.

• Jianxi may have the appearance of a hybrid character, but she has a better use as a support character. She offers her allies many very useful improvements (shield, increased damage, etc.) which make her an excellent support resonator.

• Taoqi is a resonator that will get the job done if you don't have any other support characters. She will generate shields and be able to heal herself to gain survivability. But ultimately she will have very little use in support, because her resonance skill improves her damage, something you don't look for in a support character.

• Baizhi is a very useful resonator to start with, but she is totally out of step with the other characters. In combat, the latter is slow, its buffs are not really interesting and the amount of healing provided is derisory.
