Publisher Electronic Arts, together with the developers, is launching the next big update for the long-standing Star Wars: The Old Republic. The patch for version 7.5, which will also bring with it the next chapter of the main story, was presented in more detail during a live stream. There's also a new farm where you can grow crops, as well as the first of many new single-player ventures.

The latest chapter of the main story is called “Desperate Resistance” and takes place after the events of “Chains in the Dark.” You recruit Sa'har as a new companion and then embark on a risky mission to recover the holocron and find out more about Heta's plans. You also end up in Hutta, where you have to negotiate with the businessman Yusinduu, the Hutt, in the midst of a workers' uprising in the Minboosa district.

If you want to take a break from the fighting, you can now farm on Dantooine. After getting to know each other briefly, you will be given a piece of land and can try your hand at farming.

With the “Enterprises” a new single player game type is introduced. The launch is “Basilisk Prototype”; This first venture, which is linked to the story of Lane Vizla, is all about training the Basilisk prototype B3-S1 aka Bessie. This can be a companion and can be used in limited time windows.

Further innovations in patch 7.5 according to official information:

  • New PVP Season Release Schedule: Starting with Update 7.5, PvP seasons begin on the day an update is released. PVP Season 6 begins at the same time as Update 7.5 is released.
  • Cartel Market Updates: The High Republic-style Cultivated Mentor's Lightsaber, Dual Sword, and Armor Set, as well as the Hidden Chain Jetpack, are available in Update 7.5. In addition, players will receive additional character customizations such as Baylan's “Ahsoka”-inspired beard and new expanded coloring packs.
  • Public test server starts this week: Players will be able to try out much of the new content featured in the livestream (with the exception of the narrative missions) on the Public Test Server once it goes live in the coming days.

There is no specific release date for the update yet; however, this should follow shortly.
