It's been a long time since the name of Spyro 4 has been heard in the sphere of video game rumors. If the little dragon is still waiting, the fans' hope has never wavered regarding the idea of seeing this new opus finally made official, and their patience could finally be rewarded.
Spyro 4: “this is a statement, not a hypothesis”
We must turn to the “Canadian Guy Eh” channel to find the source of this new hope. The YouTuber states in his latest video that Spyro 4 has entered the active development phase since the beginning of the year. Still according to his statements, the person concerned obtained this information during the Game Developers Conference 2024, which closed on March 22.

Canadian Guy Eh is categorical, Spyro 4 would bear the name “Spyro the Dragon 4” and specifies about it:
Spyro 4 is currently in development. It's a statement. No theory building, no evidence-based hypotheses, no conspiracy theories or even supported allusions. Spyro 4 is currently in development. Period.
What should we really think of this statement? If all this remains mere speculation for the moment, it must be recognized that Toys For Bob has sown many seeds in this direction over the last few months.
One of the most recent examples undoubtedly remains this publication X of January 5, 2024 which contained the message “You Gotta Believe” meaning: “You have to believe”.
All clues point to Spyro 4
Another important event that has occurred in recent days, Toys for Bob has become an independent studio after signing a mysterious agreement with Microsoft. If the joy was necessarily perceptible among the developer, the content of the press release announcing the news and the presence of the word “horns” in the latter again sounded like a big wink to Spyro.

Finally, it is also good to remember that this separation suggested a future partnership with Microsoft for a game which had “just begun its development”. Toys For Bob declared in February:
To make this news even more exciting, we are exploring the possibility of a partnership between our new studio and Microsoft. Although we are still in the early days of developing our next game and are still a long way from any announcements, our team is eager to develop new stories, new characters, and new gameplay experiences.
Since active development has only recently begun, it will certainly take a lot of patience to get a first glimpse of Spyro's return.
