Decisive phase for the Munich studio Chimera Entertainment: The strategy game Songs of Silence is scheduled to appear at the end of 2024.

Update from February 26, 2024: The Kickstarter campaign too Songs of Silence is as planned since today, Tuesday on the network. At least €23,000 should be raised by April 25, 2024 – a few minutes after the start the level is at €6,000.

The early access phase will follow (from May 23rd) – the full version is scheduled for the end of 2024. From 2025, the base game will be supplemented with additional content.

Parallel to the Kickstarter phase, Chimera Entertainment has a new demo version via Steam published.

Update from February 18, 2024: The countdown has begun: The Kickstarter campaign for will start on Tuesday next week (March 26th). Songs of Silence. Chimera Entertainment has also announced the start date for Early Access on Steam: May 23, 2024.


Update from February 7, 2024: Before the publication of Songs of Silence Chimera Entertainment is surprisingly launching a crowdfunding campaign, coming soon on Kickstarter starts.

Details on the specific scope were initially not known. The additional funds are intended to contribute to a better product – however, the strategy game will come onto the market regardless of box office results, as planned via Steam in spring 2024.

In the announcement, the team also addresses the current imbalance in the industry, which has led to layoffs and studio closures. Chimera also received part of this storm. But: “We will survive!”

The Federal Ministry of Economics has been supporting the development of the game with almost €1.5 million since 2021 – the Bavarian Film Television Fund had previously pledged €500,000.


Update from November 30, 2023: After several months of radio silence, there is now at least a rough date range for Songs of Silence: Accordingly, the novelty from Chimera Entertainment should appear in spring 2024 – it is available on YouTube a fresh trailer.

It starts with the PC version (via Steam, GOG, Humble Bundle) – console versions are to follow.

Report from February 3, 2023: It's been two years since the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWK) approved Chimera Entertainment's funding application: for the planned turn-based PC strategy game with the working title at the time Realms at War The federal government contributed €1,492,238 – the year before, the Free State of Bavaria had already promised a record subsidy of €500,000.

Since then, the 70-strong workforce in downtown Munich has been working on this project, which has now been officially announced after a long lead-up. Final title: Songs of Silence – the first Chimera game since the mobile game Angry Birds Evolution in 2017.

The player commands troops from more than 100 different units in a fantasy world characterized by an exceptional graphic style. As the kingdom is built and managed in turns, battles take place in real time. A system of 'fate cards' that trigger events or unlock technologies provides additional depth. Special feature: Hitoshi Sakimoto controls the soundtrack (Final Fantasy XII, Final Fantasy Tactics, Valkyria Chronicles).

Alexander Kehr, Creative Director at Chimera Entertainment: “Songs of Silence is a real passion project for us that we have been working on since 2019. We were inspired by some of our all-time favorites including Ogre Battle, Kohan and Warlords. We want to focus on conquest and army management in a fascinating fantasy world that offers maximum replay value.”

There is no release date yet – but it is possible Songs of Silence already on the 'Wishlist' on Steam set. The manufacturer has not yet provided any specific information about the business model.

Alongside Travian Games, CipSoft and Upjers, Chimera Entertainment is one of the largest game developers in Bavaria.
