Here, the studio brings new gameplay footage and meager additional gameplay details.

What’s new in Season 12 of Sea of Thieves

  • The double-barreled flintlock pistol : A new type of weapon that allows you to fire two shots individually before having to reload, or charge them together and release them all at once for a more powerful shot.
  • Throwing knives : They can be used in melee, with a light melee action and a heavy melee action, but they can also be thrown and used at a distance. You can use them to stab players with a quick attack, but that doesn't do much damage, or you can charge them to put them into a more dangerous stabbing move that will slow down the players movement and give an attack that will do a lot damage if you sneak up behind players. Finally, it is possible to flip the knives to catch them and throw them at players from a distance, which looks like a dirty move and also does a lot of damage.
  • “The Scattershot” : The difference with the standard cannonball is that it is a collection of four cannonballs, but they are much smaller. They have a much shorter fallback range and very high dispersion, allowing you to hit a target with multiple projectiles at the same time. They deal very low damage to the ship, like a level 1 hole, allowing players to repair them quickly, but they can also overwhelm the crew quite quickly.
  • “The Bone Caller” : The Bone Caller is an awesome new throwable item that players can wield and throw on the ground to summon skeletons. They fight alongside the player against enemy players and enemy AI. If they are not defeated, they disappear after a while. The item can be found after sinking a skeleton ship or in the barrels of skeleton forts.
  • “The Wind Caller” : The Wind Caller is a new horn-shaped shell that players can blow into to summon the power of the winds. Players can also use it to knock players off their ship or onto land, by targeting a player, blowing into the wind caller and knocking them into the air. You can use it as a means of propulsion for you in the water, but also for rowing boats. So you can use it when you are in the water swimming and you will move like a very fast boatman, or you can stand on a rowing boat and blow at the back like a high speed boat. You can put out fires, and you can do it quickly. So you can walk around, your whole ship is on fire, and put out all the fires while you're walking around. And they can even use it to stop the damage from their fall. For example, if you fall from a great height and use the wind caller underneath you, it will break your fall so you can land safely. There is a limited charge for the duration of the Wind Caller, so you have to use it wisely. The item can be found in wrecks and underground realms. Even unloaded, it can be resold to the gold collector.
  • Zip lines : so we added zip lines to the outpost to quickly reach your ship, we added some to the skeleton forts to allow you to zip line between two positions in order to escape the skeletons or get closer to them when they first appear, or just to give you a general idea of how you can traverse the islands.
  • Harpoon lines : So you can shoot this harpoon line at another ship or island, then jump on it and balance across it. Depending on the angle you pull the harpoon at, the slope will be too steep to climb, but if you're at the other end you can jump onto the harpoon line and run it down to your ship very quickly.

As always, around a hundred free rewards will be up for grabs and a paid Plunder Pass will allow you to win 12 additional ones. Note also that it will be possible to obtain an owl in the Pirate Emporium!
