Starfield: a success that failed to get everyone on board

It's now been half a year since Starfield was released, helping to make 2023 exceptional in terms of releases. The blockbuster from Bethesda and Microsoft even did a little to the competition, Baldur's Gate III having brought forward its release to successfully offer itself a little breathing space. Starfield's DLC section on Steam has been updated, players have renewed hope

For this year 2024, we are expecting several major updates, the release of modding tools, but also news from the Shattered Space expansion, presented ahead of the release and officially included in the higher editions of the game. Nearly seven months after the launch of Starfield, we are still waiting to know what Bethesda intends to offer with this so-called premium content.

A few days ago, the players got a little excited when they learned that the observers noted adding and updating an unknown app in the DLC section of the game on Steam. For many, this heralds the imminent arrival of Shattered Spaces, but we must immediately calm the enthusiasm of the most impatient. In reality, this file exists since the end of November and has been retouched several times, as reported by Xboxygen.

Developers can indeed prepare things well in advance. For comparison, the Nuka-World DLC from Fallout 4 was added in the same section in June 2016 for release in August, while the Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree expansion was associated with a file in January for an expected release in June. Bethesda definitely planning something, but it could just as easily be the modding tools as the expansion or a minor DLC. Things should therefore change soon, undoubtedly marking an increase in attendance, remains to be seen when.
