An initiative from the world of esports to help young people

During the Pegasus 2024 ceremony, Epic Foundation unveiled #EsportsForGood, an initiative that serves as a bridge between the world of esports and that of associations dedicated to young people. Basically, Epic's goal is to act as a bridge between selected associations and individual and corporate donors, 100% free. With #EsportsForGood, the goal is to make giving the norm within the competitive video gaming industry. As part of this solidarity initiative, Stakeholders must commit to dedicating a percentage or fixed amount of their esports revenue to projects selected by Epic that aim to help children and vulnerable young people around the world.

As the first partners of this initiative, Webedia (owner of JV), Ubisofft and EVA, the leader in French VR esports, have committed to promoting the initiative. “Innovation has been at the heart of the Epic Foundation since its creation; with this initiative, we wish to invite an entire sector to join the sharing revolution”, explains Alexandre Mars, the founder and CEO of Epic Foundation. “We already knew the generosity of the players. This initiative will now allow the entire esports ecosystem, organizers, publishers, teams, professional players, but also partner brands, to contribute to improving the future of many young people.” adds Bertrand Amar, Head of esports at Webedia. For his part, Jean Mariotte, co-founder and CEO of EVA, believes that “It’s obvious for us at our stage of development to integrate impact into our business. Profitability cannot be the only factor in the success of a start-up”. An initiative that you can find here, on the site by #EsportsForGood.
