Revamp Trade Policy and Establish New Trade Route in Manor Lords

In Manor Lords, trading is a good way to accumulate regional wealth and obtain goods that would otherwise be too expensive to produce. In this guide you will find out how to change the trade policy and create a trade route in the building strategy game.

How do I change the trading policy?

You can earn a lot of money in Manor Lords with Migt Trading. However, some players encounter a problem when trying to trade. As soon as you click on the plus or minus sign of a commodity in the trading menu of the trading post, you will receive the message: “Blocked because trading policy is set to ‘No trading’”.

Don't worry: In order to be able to trade, you don't have to invest a development point or make any major effort. You can see it to the left of the goods symbol the “No Trading” button. Click on it and choose whether you want to import or export the respective goods.

You can then regulate the desired excess using the plus and minus signs. Alternatively, you can click on the number directly and type in the desired excess to save time.

In order to trade, you must assign another family to the trading post. If no family is assigned, the building is empty and there is no one who can transport the goods. An alternative is to create a trade route, which we'll get to below.

How do I create a trade route?

If you want to create a trade route, that can be done quickly. Select the “Trade” tab in the trading post and you will see this to the right of the prices of the goods Symbol of a carriage. If you click on it, you will set up the trade route automatically.

As a result, a goods trader will regularly visit your region to trade the desired type of goods. However, you should first pay attention to the price that comes with creating a trade route. The price is displayed to the right of the carriage symbol.

Tip: Some trade routes are particularly expensive. You can add a point for this in the development menu Trade logistics spend to reduce the maximum cost to 25 region assets.

While half of the building materials, crops, food and most crafting materials do not require a trade route, are Trade routes are absolutely necessary for consumer goods, weapons and armaments. For example, if you want to import or export wheat yourself, this is easily possible as long as a family is assigned to the trading post.

However, your workers can only load a single item onto the cart at a time. If you want to transport larger quantities, you can do so at the trading post order a horse and assign a livestock guardian under the “Advanced” tab. The horse is able to transport many more goods at once.
