The cinema year 2023 was really bad for superhero films. The DC Extended Universe in particular had one blatant flop after the other after the dismissal of Henry Cavill as Superman and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam. But there was more to come for Marvel too.

If you look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe on its own, then the biggest flop wasn't that long ago. The Marvels played just a few months ago $206 million a.
