Players find new Moogle design “creepy”

The Moogles, which are called Moogles in the German version, are not just cute mascots from the “Final Fantasy” series. Since their first appearance in “Final Fantasy 3,” which was released in 1990, the cute little guys have also taken on a number of important tasks in the role-playing game series. The winged mascots are also on board again in the recently released “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”.

However, a large proportion of players seem to agree that the new design of the Moogles looks somehow strange. On social media, some users are saying that the once cute characters in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” look “creepy” or “cursed.”

Players in Japan are also said not to be enthusiastic about the new Moogles

The Moogles have been responsible for various tasks in “Final Fantasy,” but they always looked cuddly and cute. The new design in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” should actually work on paper, but unfortunately the reality actually looks a little scary. Because the developers were inspired by some cute things when it came to the appearance of the new Moogles.

First of all, the Moogles in “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth” now look like little koalas at first glance, which are generally considered super cute. Big, expressive eyes – also cute. The body, which looks like that of a teddy bear, should top off the cuteness factor. However, when taken together, all the cute details don't seem so cute anymore. The Moogles' full rodent teeth don't help matters either.

On social media, many gamers seem to agree that the popular mascots' new design is “creepy” or “cursed.” Japanese users say it's like seeing someone's online profile picture and then meeting them in real life and realizing they don't look like the same person at all.
