“Skull and Bones” is not only starting its second season. Thanks to a free event, players can also experience the pirate adventure for free.
After years of development, “Skull and Bones” was not the hit that was hoped for. However, Ubisoft was satisfied with the number of hits and apparently has no plans to stop the planned seasons.

Y1S2, the second season of the first year of support, is just around the corner and has a lot of content in store. To give players who haven't yet had a look at “Skull and Bones” a chance to find out what they might be missing, there's also a free event coming up.
Play Skull and Bones for free for seven days
As Ubisoft on the official websitea free week starts on May 30, 2024, which will be activated until May 30, 2024. The promotion runs across all platforms, i.e. PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The exact times:
Start of the Free Week:
- PC: May 30th at 6pm
- PS5, Xbox: May 30th at 7pm
End of the free week:

- PS5, PC: June 6 at 2 p.m.
What content will be unlocked during the “Skull and Bones” free week? According to Ubisoft, players can work their way through the entire game. An “unlimited gaming experience” is possible for a week.
And so that progress does not go the way of the dodo, it can be transferred to the full version if players decide to buy it. The disk version is available at Amazon currently for under 45 euros*.
A preload is also offered: Interested young pirates can download the free-to-play version of “Skull and Bones” to the platform of their choice from May 28, 2024 at 6 p.m.
Patch notes for Season 2 of Skull and Bones
“Skull and Bones” is designed as a service game. And with the second season of the pirate title, players will come across all kinds of new features and content.
This includes a new storyline that comes with contracts. “As commanders of their Chorus fleet, the flamboyant but deadly twins Armand and Bertrand Hubac have been sent to the Indian Ocean alongside the Compagnie Royale to wipe out the rudder and the growing pirate threat,” it says.
Defending against the new threat takes place over several episodes that are gradually unlocked. Ubisoft is using a two-week rhythm here.
With the Brig a new ship is added: According to Ubisoft, it is a fast and maneuverable support ship useful for laying minefields and repairing buoys. Players can earn the Brig by completing Smuggler Pass challenges.
With the new Mine Springloader weapon type, Skull and Bones players are able to place buoys that form minefields. They inflict damage on enemy ships and destroy torpedoes that hit the minefield. New weapon variants are also being added to the game.
Also new is additional armor that offers protection against torpedoes and other advantages. Other armors are getting more variants. The new game modes “Manufacture Acquisition” and “Manufacture Defense” are also intended to provide variety. The same applies to new sea monsters and a limited-time event.
