Patch 1.31 with new features and improvements is available for download

In keeping with today's release of the DLC called “The Rising Tide”, Square Enix released update 1.31 for “Final Fantasy 16”. This enriches the role-playing game with various innovations and improvements.

“The Rising Tide,” the second DLC for the role-playing game “Final Fantasy 16,” was released today. Here we face, among other things, a duel with the mighty Eikon Leviathan.

In addition to the DLC in question, Square Enix released another update for “Final Fantasy 16”. This raises the role-playing game to version 1.31 and brings with it various innovations and improvements. On the one hand, there are smaller quality-of-life optimizations waiting for you that will make your everyday adventures a little easier.

For example, the “Quick Complete” function allows you to teleport to the quest giver at the push of a button after you have successfully completed the requirements of a quest.

Skill sets, photo mode options and more

Another interesting innovation is hidden behind the skill sets. Skill sets allow you to save sets of skills you have selected and select them as needed. The developers also took on the photo mode of “Final Fantasy 16” and provided it with additional functions.

These include the ability to adjust the focal length in the depth of field setting, additional screen effects and a portrait function. The developers also took the community's feedback regarding free assignment of the button layout into account when working on patch 1.31. Using the “Custom” layout, you can now choose or adapt your key assignment yourself.

You can now get “The Rising Tide” DLC, which was also released today, for 19.99 euros the PlayStation Store download. According to official information, the mini add-on has a playing time of around ten hours.

Over and beyond promise the developers that the fight against Leviathan stands out noticeably from the Eikon fights that you fought in the main game. Not surprisingly, the element water plays a crucial role here.



“A letter with no return address and an extremely strange request reaches the lair: the Dominus of Leviathan, the long-lost esper of water, is in need,” the official description of the DLC continues.

“To fulfill this request, Clive and his companions must travel to Mysidia – a hidden land beneath the blue sky – where they will uncover the tragic history of a forgotten people.”
