Once Human – Once Human postpones its beta until April 3, and includes a store simulation

The third phase of Once Human testing was scheduled to begin today, March 28. It is finally postponed to April 3, but includes a new resource that players will be able to keep when the nightmarish survival game is released.

Last December, Once Human was revealed during a second phase of testing and the enthusiasm of the players surprised even the development team itself, within Starry Studio. The developer hoped to attract 20,000 testers, there were quickly more than 50,000 responding to the call and the number clearly continued to grow significantly throughout the test, thanks to favorable word of mouth. Today, the curious are waiting for the third phase of testing of the nightmarish survival game and according to Starry Studio, more than 8.79 million players have registered for the beta – the developer hopes to pass the 10 million mark in the coming weeks.

For the record, this third phase of testing was to begin today, March 28. It was finally delayed by a few days and must now begin next Wednesday, April 3, to last a few weeks – probably at least until the end of April. For the curious, registrations are always open on the official website.

A store simulation in beta

We noted that a new version of Once Human would be tested during this beta 3, enriched with new content. The Starry studio now specifies that a “store simulation” will also be available. Concretely, participants in the beta will regularly receive Lightforge Medals, a currency that players will earn in-game by participating in certain activities and in the form of daily or weekly login rewards. These medals can then be exchanged in a special store, obviously allowing you to unlock cosmetic outfits (including a Scarlet Dragon outfit during the beta).

Please note that the medals accumulated during the beta will be retained upon release of the game (retroactively for participants in the first two testing phases, then actively in beta 3). Testers will be able to spend these medals in a “simulated” version of the store during testing, in order to obtain cosmetic items, and these medals spent during testing will then be returned upon exit – but cosmetic items will not be not preserved for output. The developer obviously sees this as a way to test how the store works, while encouraging the curious to participate in the beta. Notice to amateurs.
