In Helldivers 2, the armor with its stats and bonuses definitely contribute to your success, but when it comes to fashion, the options are limited. Although the pieces of armor can all be freely combined, they don't always fit together visually.

A Transmog system would be a solution. According to Johan Pilestedt, CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, this community wish will not come true.

Helldivers 2 doesn't get a transmog system

According to the Arrowhead boss, “equipment looks different because it has different effects.” The co-op shooter does without optical adjustment options for the armor, because their appearance should reflect their function.

For Pilestedt, that would be “like having an apple that tastes like bacon, or vice versa.”

What is a transmog system? This feature allows players to give one piece of equipment the appearance of another if they simply like the look of it better. However, the values and bonuses of the changed item remain intact.

How does armor work in Helldivers 2?

There are three equipment slots: One for the helmet, one for the cloak and one for the rest of the body armor. Different values at Armor, speed and endurance actually only the body armor has it. The choice of helmet and cape is fundamentally of optical origin.

Since the color of the individual parts cannot be changed, they often do not match each other. A transmog system would fix this problem and players would be free to choose which stats and bonuses they want for which armor appearance.

Pilestedt is very, however clearly in the rejection of such a feature. At least Helldivers 2 doesn't lack new content otherwise. In fact, many players are even in favor of Arrowhead taking a content break and fixing the bugs and problems in the game.

Meanwhile, the community is puzzling over a strange tweet from the developers. You can find out what Karl is all about and what he has to do with the co-op hit Deep Rock Galactic in the article linked above.
