New Web Browser Version 1.32 Now Available

Published new browser version Min 1.32, which offers a minimalistic interface built around address bar manipulation. The browser is created using the Electron platform, which allows you to create stand-alone applications based on the Chromium engine and the Node.js platform. The Min interface is written in JavaScript, CSS and HTML. Code distributed by licensed under Apache 2.0. Builds are created for Linux, macOS and Windows.

Min supports navigation of open pages through a system of tabs, providing features such as opening a new tab next to the current tab, hiding unused tabs (that the user has not accessed for a certain time), grouping tabs, and viewing all tabs in a list. There are tools for building lists of deferred tasks/links for future reading, as well as a bookmarking system with full-text search support. The browser has a built-in ad blocking system (according to the list EasyList) and code for tracking visitors, it is possible to disable the loading of images and scripts.

The central control in Min is the address bar, through which you can send queries to a search engine (DuckDuckGo by default) and search the current page. As you type in the address bar, as you type, a summary of relevant information for the current request is generated, such as a link to a Wikipedia article, a selection from bookmarks and browsing history, as well as recommendations from the DuckDuckGo search engine. Each page opened in the browser is indexed and becomes available for subsequent search in the address bar. In the address bar you can also enter commands to quickly perform operations (for example, “!settings” – go to settings, “!screenshot” – create a screenshot, “!clearhistory” – clear your browsing history, etc.).

In the new release:

  • Added a setting that allows you to select a language other than the operating system language.
  • Enabled display of the page domain when hovering the cursor over a tab.
  • Search through browsing history has been accelerated and processing of diacritics has been improved.
  • Resolved an issue that allowed scripts to run despite scripts being blocked in the settings.
  • Updated translations for Russian and Ukrainian languages.
  • Added assemblies for Windows systems based on ARM and x86 (32-bit) architectures.
