New Indie World Update from Nintendo: A Recap of Animal Announcements and a Missing Team Cherry’s Hornet

This Wednesday, Nintendo broadcast a new Indie World, a pre-recorded presentation used to highlight various games from the independent scene. Alas, still no trace ofHollow Knight: Silksong despite the recent activity surrounding it. You can review everything in our initial article and here we will take stock of everything that was shown. In addition to the temporary exclusive port on Switch of Ninja Turtles: Splinter's Destiny and the announcement of the release date of Cat Quest IIIthe biggest surprise was saved for last with the reveal of SteamWorld Heist II.

  • Little Kitty, Big City by Double Dagger Studio

A peaceful nap gives way to a wonderful and adorable adventure where you play as a curious little cat who is looking for a way to find his home. There are tons of things to do along the way: explore the city, complete quests, paw at animals in need, or even make friends with the alley cats. You can also wear over 40 different hats while wreaking havoc in an open-world city full of surprises.

Little Kitty, Big City will arrive on May 9 on Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and in Game Pass on day one.

  • Yars Rising by WayForward Technologies and Atari

The famous development studio WayForward known, among others, for Shantae and River City Girls, presents Yars Rising, a 2D action and adventure game that explores one of the richest and best-known classic titles of Atari: Yars' Revenge. Take control of the young hacker Emi Kimura, hired by a mysterious patron to infiltrate the dark corporation QoTech. Run, jump, sneak and hack your way through waves of robotic and alien enemies, and piece by piece unravel a complex secret at the heart of a plot. The game also features a series of challenging retro mini-games that pay homage to the original Yars' Revenge game.

Yars Rising will arrive this year on Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) and Atari VCS.

  • Refind Self: The Personality Test Game by Lizardry and PLAYISM

In this exploration-based adventure game, you play as an android, the creation of a now deceased doctor. There are no right or wrong choices to make in this game where every decision you make reveals a little more about who you are. Visit places from your memories, interact with other characters and little by little give shape to the future that the doctor had imagined for you. At the end of your adventure, your personality will be revealed. With 23 personality types to discover, you'll be able to make different choices during each game to see where they take you. You can also share your results with other players and compare your choices.

  • Sticky Business by Spellgarden Games and Assemble Entertainment

In the relaxing simulation game Sticky Business, you run a store where you create and ship your own stickers to your customer base. There are over 400 items to choose from, and you can get upgrades, like effects, to further expand your customization options. Learn more about your customers' lives by responding to their unique requests. Additionally, the paid DLC Plan With Me adds ten additional guest stories centered around the travel theme, as well as over 100 new items.

Open your own sticker store in Sticky Business and its DLC, which will arrive today as a temporary console exclusive on Nintendo Switch. A pack which brings together the game and its DLC will also be available during the day. Already available on PC (Steam, GOG and itch.io).

  • ANTONBLAST by Summitsphere

The devil himself has stolen your precious collection of souls, and nothing can stop you from getting it back in ANTONBLAST, a dynamic action platformer that combines destructive action and handmade pixel art. Wield the Sacred Hammer as Anton Dynamite or the Massive Mace as Annie Dynamite to demolish crazy worlds and take on brutal bosses. Smash the scenery to open paths and discover new areas to explore. At the end of each level, a detonator will go off and you will have to hurry back to your starting point before everything explodes.

Get ready to have the time of your life ANTONBLAST, which will arrive as a temporary console exclusive on November 12 on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). A free demo is available on the Valve eShop and platform.

  • Valley Peaks by Tub Club and Those Awesome Guys

Valley Peaks is a first-person climbing platformer set in a pastel mountain world populated by amphibian villagers. Play as the new technician assigned to the region, explore to your heart's content and try to overcome seemingly impossible challenges. Between two climbs, you can chat with the local amphibians, undertake small side quests such as filling out your stamp card to obtain new equipment. You can also relax with mini-games while doing service to the inhabitants of the valley.

The mountains are calling in Valley Peaks, coming to Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam) this year.

  • Lorelei and the Laser Eyes by Simogo and Annapurna Interactive

In this puzzle game developed by the team behind Sayonara Wild Hearts, a woman invited to participate in a project in an old hotel somewhere in Central Europe, finds herself involved in an increasingly dangerous and surreal game of illusions. This third-person adventure features over 100 hand-crafted puzzles with changing mechanics and perspectives.

Everything is an enigma in Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, which will arrive as a temporary console exclusive on May 16 on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).

  • Europa by Helder Pinto / Novadust Entertainment and Future Friends Games

On the moon Europa, an android named Zee sets out in search of answers to the mystery of a fallen civilization. In this 3D action platformer, use Zee's Zephyr jetpack to slide, fly, and propel yourself across landscapes of lakes, meadows, and mountains to explore. Solve puzzles, avoid traps hidden in the ruins, and uncover the story of the last living human.

Europa will arrive this year on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). A free demo is available on the Nintendo eShop.

  • stitch. by Lykke Studios

In stitch., create beautiful embroidery designs, by solving puzzles (called drums) of different difficulties and sizes. Tackle the drums, each of which has the potential to provide a calm and relaxing experience. The game also offers a hint function as well as several accessibility features. Once a tambour is finished, it is possible to redo it in Free Sewing mode. Daily Shikaku Puzzles offer a challenging challenge without any clues, while Weekly Drums are inspired by famous events and provide fun and educational facts.

A 3D platform game that incorporates the contrast between light and shadow into its gameplay, available July 18 on Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC (Steam).

  • Animal Well by Shared Memory and BIGMODE – An action-adventure game that will ask you to explore an interconnected labyrinth to try to uncover all its secrets, available May 9 on Switch, PS5 (PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on day one) and PC (Steam).
  • Duck Detective: The Secret Salami by Happy Broccoli Games

A narrative adventure in which you will have to use deduction to gather clues, fill in the blanks and elucidate the case, which will arrive in console exclusive May 23 on Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam).

  • Another Crab's Treasure by Aggro Crab

You play as a hermit crab who embarks on an epic treasure hunt across a polluted ocean in order to recover his seashell, available le April 25 on Switch, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC (Steam) and in Game Pass on day one.
