Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: we saw the game in detail, it looks even crazier than expected | Xbox

After teasing its next game for several days, Warhorse Studios has finally lifted the veil on its next production. Unsurprisingly, it is Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, sequel to Kingdom Come: Deliverance released in 2018. We had the chance to preview a ton of information on this medieval adventure RPG.

The story of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Just like the first opus, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will take players to the heart of the 15th century, in a Bohemia ravaged by civil war. In 2018, they were able to discover the story of Henry, played by Tom Mckay, a young boy who narrowly survives the invasion of his village by an assault force. He thus embarks on a quest for revenge against those who massacred his family and reduced his house to ashes.

As the trusted squire of young Sir Hans, played by Luke Dale, Henry is sent on a simple mission, but things go wrong very quickly. So, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a continuation of Henry's story, but Warhorse Studios claims that the story will be perfect for new players.

If you're not familiar with Henry, he was originally a character who was a nobody. He simply takes on life's challenges and everyone can see themselves in him. Hans, on the other hand, represents all the fun times and all the exuberance and joy that Henry has in him, but you have to access it, and Hans really helps him do that.

The world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The story of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will take Henry to visit the streets of Kuttenberg, a beautiful city in the center of Europe. The studio has also specified that this is where the majority of the game will take place. This huge city presented a huge challenge for developers, as it is made up of a multitude of small suburbs.

That's not all, since players will have the opportunity to discover magnificent nature around with quite unusual rock formations in what is today called the “Bohemian Paradise”.

The developers want to encourage players to explore by offering a colorful world, a beautiful, serene nature in which animals live, but also a multitude of secrets.

The grandeur of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2's world is accentuated by the soundtrack, again composed by Jan Valta.

The ambition of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The ambition of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is much greater than that of the first episode and the studio can now finally offer its initial vision of the medieval adventure RPG experience. Around 250 people are working on the project, while originally only 11 worked on Kingdom Come Deliverance.

For 6 years, the Czech studio has been shaping the second opus with much more resources and experience than before. Thus, Warhorse Studios has embarked on a much more ambitious project with a map twice as large as in the first, a longer and epic story and 5 hours of cutscenes, while the first opus only had 3.

While Kingdom Come Deliverance focused on stories of the lower nobility with bandits, this time the problems will be of the royal order.

Also, Warhorse Studios wants to go beyond a stereotypical muddy, dirty vision, where everyone dies of starvation. The mode will therefore be colorful!

The Ultimate Medieval Adventure RPG Experience

If the program is already very attractive as it is, we must not forget one of the essential elements of the game, namely its mechanics. Once again, the studio opted for historically accurate fights, not for historical or other reasons, but to offer immersive fights, where you feel the sword in your hands, where you feel threatened, where you feel like you are fighting for your life. As seen in the game announcement trailer, new weapons will be included, namely crossbows and firearms.

Purely regarding the role-playing game, Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will offer the possibility of Henry being an excellent fighter, an eloquent person who manages with his speech to get out of problems, being a charming knight, a thief, a scoundrel, etc.

As a good RPG, the world of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will remember Henry's actions, notably through a crime system. Also, if the player walks naked and drunk in the street, the NPCs will say something to him and Henry will be able to respond “I'm sorry!” » or even “Fuck you!” “.

If Henry is carrying out criminal activities around the village, people may be suspicious and will greet you differently. Players will also be able to indulge in a ton of other activities, like dice games, blacksmithing, alchemy, and much more. In short, a sequel which promises to be much richer than the first opus.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC in 2024.
