Play Monopoly online for free
You can play the original Monopoly for free in the browser on the Gamepix website. Here you can start a game on one computer with up to four players. But there is no online mode here! You can play for free without registering or otherwise registeringbut you should be prepared for some advertising in the game.

Each player can give themselves a name, choose a color and choose one of the original game characters. The game board is displayed completely in 3D and even the dice fall realistically. Small disappointment: You can on Gamepix Only play Monopoly in the original with British street names. Paid alternatives for Monopoly
If the Monopoly fun is worth some money to you, you can buy the Tabletop Simulator on Steam for around 20 euros. You can use this to integrate Monopoly as a mod alongside hundreds of other board games.
Only one player has to buy the Tabletop Simulator, who can then share the screen with the other players via Steam Remote Play. You can then talk to your friends at the same time via Steam chat. Please note that every player must create a Steam account and use the quick invite function. The other options via user name and friend code are initially blocked.
Another option is Monopoly Plus on Steam, which you can purchase for around 15 euros. With this elaborately animated version of Monopoly you can expect many effects. You also get single play against the AI, local multiplayer via split screen and online play.
Play Monopoly via app
Manufacturer Hasbro Monopoly also distributes itself as a mobile version for iOS and Android. However, these versions each cost you money €4.49. If you don't shy away from that, you can get the true-to-original Monopoly experience on mobile devices.
You can easily compete against the AI in single player. Alternatively there is one Local multiplayer mode where you pass the cell phone between your friends. But online matches against players all over the world or against friends and family in private gaming rooms are also possible.
Monopoly GO!
We also want to mention Monopoly GO! which you can download as an app game for iOS and Android. In this game, however, you just roll the dice round the board and collect as much money as possible to build cities with different themes.
