How to Find Dragon Locations and Obtain Wyvern Crystals in Dragon’s Dogma 2

Dragons are the most powerful enemies in Dragon's Dogma 2 and if you want to defeat and kill them, you need a strong group. At this point we will show you all the dragon locations to farm wyvern crystals, with which you can improve your equipment to the maximum.

Defeat and kill dragons

At the start of the game you will encounter dragons a few times, but you will find it difficult to defeat them because you are not yet strong enough. If you can't do enough damage to a dragon in a certain amount of time, they will eventually take off and fly away. Still, take a good look around the combat area, because they always leave behind some wyvern crystals as loot, even if you haven't defeated them.

This is how you can defeat dragons: We were able to kill quite a few dragons in the game and our group always consisted of a Mystic Blade, a Mage (for healing), a Rogue (additional damage) and a Warrior (tank). With the Mystic Blade you should definitely train the Mirror Shield skill. It protects you from all damage for almost ten seconds and also works on group members if they are close enough. In this way you are virtually invincible. Cast the shield regularly and deal damage in between. With a dragon you should always attack its chest area. This is where the glowing red heart appears, a dragon's only real weak point.

Farm and use Wyvern Crystals

For slaying dragons you will receive dragon scales (used to upgrade certain equipment) and wyvern crystals. You can never have enough of the latter in particular. Under no circumstances sell these to dealers! There is a separate NPC in the game with whom you can exchange the Wyvern Crystals.

This is the Dragonforged, who you can find in his cave at the Shrine of the Bay. You can get to it if you follow the path north out of Bakbattahl. There is also a way to approach it from the north through the Guerco Caves. In a narrow passage you normally fall down through the floor, but if you use the Dragon Strike of the Mystic Blade, you can jump over this hole in the floor and reach the other cave exit. The magician's levitation ability will also help you further here.

You can exchange the wyvern crystals with the NPC for a destination crystal, three travel stones and a doom arrow. Otherwise you only get the latter for solving the Sphinx puzzles. You can also use the crystals from him to unlock a fourth upgrade level for your equipment.

Tip: If you give an NPC two wyvern crystals as a gift, you will maximize your relationship with them in one fell swoop.

All dragon locations

The spawn points of dragons are always the same, which is why we show them to you on map sections below. Note that it takes 14 in-game days for a defeated dragon to spawn in the same location again. If you want to farm them effectively, scout the locations and then sleep in your house for 14 days until they reappear.

A notice: In addition to the fixed spawn points, a dragon attack will also take place in Melve and at the north gate of Vernworth in one game round. It is random when this happens.Dragons in Vermund Dragons in Battahl and on Volcano Island
