Helldivers 2: Community supports transmog feature

One of the features that the “Helldivers 2” community has been pushing for recently was, among other things, a transmog feature. But what are the chances that this function will be implemented? The developers at Arrowhead provided clarity.

Since the launch of the successful co-op shooter “Helldivers 2”, the developers at Arrowhead have emphasized proximity to the community and regularly respond to the wishes of the players.

One of the features that the community recently advocated for was the transmog feature. With the transmog function, it is possible to change your character's outfit in all kinds of titles without losing the values and characteristics of the originally created equipment.

However, as Arrowhead's creative director Johann Pilestedt made clear when asked by a user, we shouldn't expect a function of this kind in “Helldivers 2”.

For this reason, Arrowhead does not use the feature

According to the creative director, such a feature in “Helldivers 2” simply wouldn’t make sense. Pilestedt continued: “We will not implement transmog. That does not make sense. The equipment looks different because it has different effects. Swapping one for the other is like having an apple that tastes like bacon, or vice versa.”

Developers promise long-term support

“Helldivers 2” was released at the beginning of February for the PC and PS5 and became one of the surprise hits of the year on both platforms. Consequently, we can expect the co-op shooter to be supported over a long period of time. For one thing, Arrowhead is planning updates that will fix bugs and improve the overall gaming experience.

The developers also regularly add new content and challenges to the world of “Helldivers 2”. A few days ago, for example, a new premium war bond called “Democratic Detonation” was launched. This brings additional weapons and war items into play.

Our message from last week provides you with further details about the content on offer.
