Grounded: New Game Plus and more – update for the PS5 launch

To coincide with the release of “Grounded” for PS5 and PS4, developer Obsidian Entertainment has released a comprehensive update with really great innovations on all platforms.

Fans of the survival game “Grounded” have two reasons to be happy these days. After a long period of Xbox exclusivity, the action-adventure has been available since April 16, 2024 finally available for the PS5 and PS4.

Even Switch owners can now plunge into the fight for survival. The developers have activated a crossplay function that enables cross-platform multiplayer games. But that's not enough.

Update “Fully Yoked” has a lot to offer

Obsidian Entertainment has also released the extensive update 1.4 for “Grounded”, which is called “Fully Yoked” and is already included in the PlayStation and Switch versions.

One of the most important innovations is definitely the “New Game+” mode, which presents players with additional challenges and is intended to increase long-term motivation. Among other things, significantly stronger opponents appear. In return, players have access to particularly powerful jewelry.

In order to use the “New Game+” mode, players must first have defeated the brood mother, the praying mantis and the wasp queen. The Javamatic fight should also be completed. When switching to the mode, all existing bases, items, recipes, etc. are retained.

Furthermore, the ant queen celebrates her premiere in the backyards of “Grounded”. There are also thematically inspired buildings, a baby ant pet and a variety of bug fixes and comfort improvements. For example, it is now possible to load a save game during an ongoing multiplayer game without any crashes or complications. The full patch notes are available on the official website.

Grounded is just one of four Xbox games coming to PlayStation:

Was that it with Grounded?

Obsidian Entertainment had already announced that this would be the last major update for “Grounded”. From now on, the developers will increasingly focus on other projects, but there will probably still be smaller patches with bug fixes. The team is currently working on both role-playing games “Avowed” as well as “The Outer Worlds 2”.
