If you like Escape From Tarkov, keep your ears open… Just today, a certain “Gray Zone Warfare” has just entered early access on Steam. It's a tactical co-op shooter that immerses you in a fictional Southeast Asian island – the Democratic Republic of Lamang – an open world where you can take part in PvP and PvE activities! Its main bias is to focus heavily on realism, both in terms of technique – quite impressive – and gameplay. On the Valve platform, we can learn that the MADFINGER Games title benefits from“realistic ballistics” as well as a “unique” life system. “The slightest injury affects your perception and performance”, we can learn on Steam. Obviously: Gray Zone Warfare requires you to be reactive, whether to manage your health | the equipment of your weapons, which can thus adapt to “all situations”. If the promise tempts you, it's available for €34.99.

Gray Zone Warfare is now available on Steam in early access. As for the duration of this early access, MADFINGER is going for the “long term”, as the studio explains on Steam. “The approximate timeline could extend over several years, depending on feedback from the community and the realization of our shared vision”. Obviously, as is usual, the console versions – including PS5 – will be released once the final version is completed! In short, it won't be right away. Ultimately, Gray Zone Warfare will be an “immersive tactical FPS where you will have to completely adapt to your environment, using numerous tactics”.

Gray Zone Warfare enters early access, what are the first returns?

For the moment, MADFINGER Games' baby has a “rather negative” average on Steam, with 35% positive reviews based on nearly 1,500 reviews! A bad rating which can be explained by the optimization concerns from which Gray Zone Warfare still suffers, as pointed out by many players. “I have a configuration costing more than 2,500 euros and I cannot exceed 50 images per second, without counting the freezes, the desynchronizations (…) the movements that are not smooth”. For the rest – concerning the purely tactical aspect of the title – the promise seems to be there.
