Google Tensor G3 will be significantly more powerful than its predecessor

According to insiders, the Google Tensor G3 is codenamed “Zuma” and internally named “GS 301”.It will be used for all Google Pixel 8 series

Central bank configuration:

1 x Cortex X3 (instead of 2 Cortex X2 cores)

4 x Cortex A720 or A715

4 x A510

This is a new 1+4+4 configuration.In theory, such a collection gives an improvement of 21% compared to the 1 + 3 + 4 scheme of the previous generation according to ARM recommendations.

Mali G715 was installed instead of the immortalis GPU, since Immortals’ power consumption is very high.

Tensor G3 will be the first SoC built on Samsung’s 3nm GAA architecture.Previously, Samsung simply licensed Exynos chips to Google and did not help the tensor team.But now Tensor G3 is the first product of a real collaboration between Samsung and Google.The performance of the Tensor 3 ML (AI) artificial intelligence processing unit will be very high, they promise an increase of 400-600% compared to Tensor 2

In essence, Google has asked the Exynos team for help with Tensor 3 since 2022 “this is not a rumor”.So this explains why the Exynos 2300 has been delayed until Q3 or even cancelled.

Google already received an early sample of the G3 around August 10, 2022, with another pre-production on February 23.By April 23, Tensor G3 will be ready in its final form, and by July 23, the first batch of Samsung’s first 3nm chip will be delivered.
