This year, the saga Star Wars celebrates several birthdays, notably that of 25 years of The Phantom Menacethe first chronological episode of the saga which returns to theaters on the occasion of the World Star Wars Day on May 4, but also that of the saga itself, which will blow its 47 candles next May 25. And yes ! Star Warsrenamed A new hope in 1981, was released almost 47 years ago, and according to The Great Rexthis is the ideal opportunity to launch a major marathon Star Wars.
The Star Wars marathon @LeGrandRex will take place on the night of Tuesday April 30 to Wednesday May 1! The films are screened in Grand Large VOST-FR. The price of the Marathon: €70!

On the program, a marathon of 24 hours featuring the three main trilogies of the license George Lucas And Abrams. Everything will be broadcast not in release order, but in chronological order, with the three films in the prelogy first, then the three films of the original trilogyand finally those of the third trilogy released between 2015 and 2019. Spin-off films, such as The Clone Wars, Rogue OneOr Solo will not be broadcast during the marathon, but you can watch them on Disney+.

The marathon will begin at midnight on the night of Tuesday April 30 to Wednesday May 1 and will end the following night around 12:22 a.m.. The films will be screened in the original version with French subtitles, and tickets are on sale on the Grand Rex website at the price of 70€ since March 25, 2024. According to the Twitter account (or X) of the Le Grand Rex cinema, more than 300 fans have already reserved their places for the big roomwhich can accommodate up to 2700 people in free seating, and which contains the Large Largea canvas of 300 square meters considered the largest screen in Europe outside IMAX.
Each film will be followed by a break of 15 to 45 minutes to rest, refresh or fill up, and fans are encouraged to bring food and drink to survive this 24-hour marathon. But even with all that, you'll have to hang on hard to stay awake all that time, and you'll probably have to get to the Grand Rex well in advance to have a chance of finding a seat with enough legroom. In other words, only the most hardcore fans of the Star Wars saga will be able to take on this challenge without sleeping!
