French studio is working on seven games

French developers Don't Nod Entertainment recently announced restructuring. It was confirmed that the studio is currently working on seven games.

Already at the end of 2022, the French developers of Don't Nod stated that eight new projects to publish in the period 2023 to 2025. After the recent release of Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden The studio has now confirmed that it is working on seven more ideas.

A major restructuring of the company was announced, in which the developer wants to focus on “three different internal areas of expertise”: RPG, narrative adventure and action-adventure. Although each branch of the developer should have its own focus, collaboration and the exchange of ideas between the studios should still be encouraged.

Don't Nod has studios in Paris and Montreal

Don't Nod Entertainment is known for the titles “Tell Me Why”, “Vampyre” as well as the original “Life is Strange”. The developer's upcoming projects include “Lost Records: Bloom & Rage,” which will be released during the Game Awards 2023 was announced and is currently being developed at the studio in Montreal.

Five of the current projects are being developed internally at Don't Nod, while the remaining two titles are being overseen by external developers Tolima and Tiny Bull Studios. Tolima is working on Koira, a “musical, hand-drawn adventure” for which Don't Nod is serving as publisher.

“We have an action RPG that [Don’t Nod Executive Sophie Filip] with Vampyr and Banishers mentioned. We have the studio in Montreal, which is also very important for us with the Life is Strange team. And we have another branch in Paris that is responsible for action adventures. There, people can further expand their know-how and develop better and better titles from game to game,” said CEO Oskar Guilbert in an interview with colleagues at IGN.

“We feel that, even in response to what's happening in the industry, we need to focus on games that are more in the AA range or slightly above, and not necessarily going into the AAA landscape,” Sophie Filip added. “It also makes it a little easier for us to combine our efforts and our different talents and hopefully avoid getting into a situation where we have to make difficult decisions.”
