Players who already own “Fallout 4” for the PS4 may be confronted with an annoying bug. So report Some game owners reported on platforms like Reddit or X that they could not download the PS5 version for free as intended.

Instead, they are asked to purchase the title again. When asked, Bethesda Softworks customer service confirmed that the developers are already investigating the problem.

In addition to the problems with downloading the upgrade via the PlayStation Store on the PS5, users are complaining about crashes of the game on the PS4 that occurred after downloading patch 1.36. The next few days will show to what extent this whole thing indicates larger problems or bugs.

This is what the new display modes offer

In addition to all sorts of technical and gameplay improvements, the native PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of “Fallout 4” support two different display modes. In performance mode, the developers aim for a display in 60 frames per second and rely on a dynamic resolution that scales up to 4K.

In quality mode, however, you can expect 30FPS, a display of the game world in ultra settings and support for 4K resolution. According to the developers, we can look forward to native 4K in quality mode, which does not require dynamic resolution scaling.

“When connected to a 120 Hz display, we aim for a resolution of 40 FPS in quality mode. When connected to a 1440p display, the title will run at 1440p resolution and 60 FPS with Ultra settings, regardless of rendering mode,” the upgrade continues.
