F1 24: What happens to your career? These changes are coming this year!

This is what your career looks like

You effectively have three options in your career: On the one hand, you can create your own driver. On the other hand, it is also possible to select a current F1 or F2 driver. And former motorsport legends are also available for you.

For example, you then enter Formula 2 as an F2 driver or your own driver and make a name for yourself with good performances. Which in turn strengthens your negotiating position for the move to Formula 1.

The driver ratings are important. Each driver (F1, F2, Icons and Custom) starts with a defined set of ratings, which can of course change. The main goal is to improve your ratings across races and seasons.

Apart from that, you increase your recognition equally through good results and by fulfilling goals that are set out in your contract. You can also participate in secret meetings if you want to change teams to get a bonus. Alternatively, there are bonuses for loyalty to your own team.

This in turn unlocks the new “R&D Rush” mechanic. The risk of failure is lower and you get new parts faster. You also unlock secret upgrades and can develop several at the same time. Various R&D scenarios are intended to provide variety, for example offering you bonuses or presenting you with special challenges.

You can track your driver's successes over time and work with team specialists to set goals for a race weekend. If you fulfill them, it not only improves your relationship with each other, you can also unlock additional R&D perks.

Exclusively in the driver career, you have a new contract system where you can meet with teams and get a stronger offer. Likewise, contracts that last more than one year are possible. And during the races you will also be set goals that are intended to motivate you on the one hand and reward you with higher ratings on the other.

Meanwhile, the rivalries are divided into three categories. Firstly, the rivalry with the other driver in your own team, the fight for the world title and the competition with drivers of a similar quality level. This in turn extends over several races with little impact, over a larger part of the season or even over a larger part of the career.

The “Challenge Career” is new again. Here we have asynchronous episodes with different scenarios. You can choose between four different AI difficulty levels and you then have the opportunity to compare your performance with others. You will receive rewards for both progress and placement on the leaderboard. At the same time, you want to involve the community and let them decide, for example, whether they want to play a certain driver in an episode.

If you don't feel like driving alone, you can jump into the two-player career (online only). This includes all new features for the normal career.

F1 24 will be released on May 31, 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Anyone who buys the Champions Edition can play from May 28, 2024.
