After a multitude of clues spotted here and there in recent weeks, the social networks of the Call of Duty license have released a publication that fans of the license have been waiting for a long time. It's time to take up arms again: a new episode of Call of Duty has just been made official, and it's a series of games that the community particularly appreciates: the Xbox conference is going to be explosive!

The first Call of Duty video game since the acquisition of Activision by Microsoft made official

It must be admitted, a video game year would not have the same flavor in the absence of an episode of Call of Duty. For a whole bunch of players, this is one of the outings not to be missed and the prospect of participating in wild multiplayer games with other comrades in arms. However, the opus which would succeed Call of Duty Modern Warfare III (2023) was expected around the corner for a very specific reason. Since the release of this episode, something very important has happened: the officialization of the acquisition of Activision-Blizzard-King by the giant Microsoft. Therefore, this is the very first post-acquisition episode and, potentially, the start of a new era for the shooter franchise.

Today, a few days before the traditional Summer Game Fest period, rich in information and new features, the community obviously had its eyes riveted on Call of Duty and on the different studios working on the license. Last year, Call of Duty preferred to wait a little longer and revealed himself, during a fairly substantial segment, during Gamescom Opening Night Live, presented by Geoff Keighley. However, this year, everything suggests that Call of Duty will be performing at Summer Game Fest and the Xbox conference. Because, yes, there has been movement in recent hours, and not just a little!

Call of Duty will indeed be here in 2024: Black Ops 6 is preparing its return, players are over the moon

Just yesterday we started to see warning signs of the return of Call of Duty. Around 8 p.m., insider billbil-kun, who has become a rising and trusted figure in video game news, published on his X account (formerly Twitter) a deliberately blurred visual of this new episode of the license Call of Duty. Given its increasingly reliable nature, we thought that the official announcement would only be a matter of hours, and that is indeed what happened. During the day, new elements corroborated today's revelation: the Treyarch studio is back in charge and will deliver to us, in 2024,… Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

The name may make us cringe at the time but it seems that the publisher Activision considers the episode Cold War as the fifth part of this sub-branch of the license Call of Duty. On the official social networks of the license, the famous series of shooting games announces the launch “ a new dark chapter in the Black Ops franchise », while sharing a first promotional video. On the developers' side, we cannot hide the joy of returning to the forefront through this flagship branch of the Activision license, and it's with a gif taken from the saga John Wick that they suggested that this comeback wasn't going to be in the lace. Now we're looking forward to a gameplay demonstration!
