The Witcher on Netflix is getting a fourth and fifth season – then it's over. But it's currently exciting to see how many fans still give the new seasons a chance. Because Henry Cavill is not returning as Geralt, instead we see Liam Hemsworth in the role of the Witcher.
And that caused a huge uproar and loud protests in the Witcher community. It's safe to say that Liam Hemsworth wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms as the new Geralt.
Freya Allan supports Liam Hemsworth
Now the Ciri actress Freya Allan is campaigning for her new actor colleague. In an interview with Collider She wants Witcher fans to at least give Hemsworth a chance:
I don't want for [Liam Hemsworth] speak, but as I understand it, he really puts in a lot of effort and brings a lot of heart and soul. He trains hard. I feel sorry for him because if I'm honest, the community can be quite aggressive and having someone take on someone else's role is far from ideal. But I'm really looking forward to seeing what he delivers. He's such a nice guy and I hope people give him a chance.

In conversation with Comic book Allan was also asked about the change between Cavill and Hemsworth. The Ciri actress even reveals that she was really nervous about replacing the main Witcher actor. But now she is very happy with how it turned out:
[Liam] is delightful and really, really lovely – a totally down to earth person. If I'm honest, I was afraid of it. But now I'm fully on board and I'm thinking, thank God we have a director who's got this all under control. I also have so many great things ahead of me with my storyline. I'm actually pretty happy.

The Witcher: In the new Netflix film, not Henry Cavill returns, but the video game Geralt returns
Seasons 4 and 5 of The Witcher are currently being filmed in one go. This means the fourth season could start on Netflix sometime in 2025. The new animated film The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep with Doug Cockle as Geralt will start at the end of 2024. Originally, Ciri's Rats were supposed to get their own spin-off, but that was apparently canceled.
