Nothing is going well for the game Escape From Tarkov which attracts the anger of players after a new version of the title. And the discontent is even greater following an official communication from the studio.
Escape From Tarkov is an extraction shooter that seeks realism and draws on different genres. Even though it is primarily an FPS, Battlestate's game integrates MMO, RPG and survival mechanics. The title had already come under criticism, despite its popularity, but that is nothing compared to what is currently happening. The teams have obviously pushed the envelope too far and are now facing a backlash in the face.

An overpriced pay-to-win edition for Escape From Tarkov
Escape From Tarkov isn't without its flaws, but it's quite popular with PC players looking for this kind of multiplayer experience. But its popularity has just fallen violently after the announcement of The Unheard Edition. A new version sold at €250 without any physical content. A problem ? Not for the majority of players who seem ready to support Escape From Tarkov. The problem with this version is that there are too many pay-to-win elements according to the community, with a poor balance to the disadvantage of players who dedicate time to progress.
But it's “the least serious” because what ignited the powder was the presence of a PvE mode exclusive to The Unheard Edition which clearly lives up to its name. This content should have been offered to buyers of the latest Edge of Darkness edition, which is now unavailable, since it notably promised a “free access to all upcoming DLC”. And Battlestate leaves you no choice: either you pay €250 for the latest version of Escape From Tarkov, or you pay a €100 tax for owning the Edge of Darkness Edition.

Escape From Tarkov players took to Reddit, X and the game's Discord – which was closed – to express their anger. And BattleState's reaction is astonishing to say the least. For them, this PvE mode is not a DLC, and therefore, they are on target. They didn't betray anyone. “DLC means additional downloadable content. PvE is a feature and a game mode. Just because you all want it to be DLC doesn't mean it is. This is the mode of the new edition of Escape From Tarkov » wrote community manager Daniel Mavlyuberdinov before the Discord disappeared. For the community, all of this is “disrespectful” and “unacceptable”.
