In terms of design, parity looms between the devices, with the exception of a few minor differences.As for the disadvantages, both robots use a design behind a single “raking” brush in front.In my opinion, the two-brush solution is the most effective for removing dirt from the corners of the room.
Functionality
Pre-configuring the robots did not take much time.Everything happens with the help of proprietary applications and the method of scanning QR codes on devices or from instructions.Both devices do not support 5GHz Wi-Fi.Therefore, before setting up, make sure you have a 2.4 GHz channel – most modern routers allow you to create two independent channels.
The first launch with building a map of a room of approximately 15 square meters and subsequent cleaning took 14 minutes for HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus, and 16 minutes for Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro.
The version of the Mi Home application (there is a version for iOS and Android), which is used to control the Xiaomi robot vacuum cleaner, allows you to view a map of the room and set up virtual boundaries and restricted zones.In addition, you can set scheduled cleaning, keep statistics of consumables.There are also settings for suction power and water flow intensity.
Robot Sweeper app for HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus is not far behind in terms of functionality.There are versions for iOS and Android.As in the previous case, there is a room map editor with virtual boundaries and restricted zones.In addition, there are statistics on consumables, scheduled cleaning (automation), as well as setting the suction power and water flow rate for wet cleaning.The Carpet Cleaning option automatically increases power when the unit is placed on carpeted floors.
In my opinion, the application for HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus is the most convenient.It has a simpler interface with the most logical arrangement of elements.Both applications allow you to update device firmware, search and move robots manually using virtual joysticks.Also, both vacuum cleaners support integration into smart home systems using the Alice voice assistant.Thus, you can start cleaning by voice.To connect the HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus to Alice, you need to use the proprietary HONOR AI Space application.
Cleaning
The suction power of Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro is 3000 Pa, the maximum noise level is 72 dB, and the volume of the water tank used in wet cleaning is 190 ml.HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus has 2700 Pa, 65 dB and 300 ml respectively.The Xiaomi robot wins slightly in suction power, but is inferior in terms of noise level and water tank volume.
I tested both vacuum cleaners a week apart so that the floor surface had time to get dirty.The devices were tested separately in two modes: dry and wet.
As a result of testing, both robot vacuum cleaners performed equally well with the exception of one feature.HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus with wet and dry cleaning covers the area in the test room always a few minutes faster.It can be assumed that it builds a map more efficiently.However, this difference is insignificant.

The battery capacity of Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro is 5200 mAh.This reserve is enough for about 90 minutes of battery life or for cleaning a room up to 150 square meters.Charging time from 0 to 100% takes an average of 90 minutes.
HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus received a 3200 mAh battery, which can provide up to 120 minutes of battery life or clean a room up to 200 square meters.Probably, such indicators are achieved due to the most compact dimensions of the robot, since the volume of its battery is smaller in comparison with the Xiaomi gadget.
As a conclusion
At the time of publication of this review, the cost of Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro is from 23,999 rubles, and HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 is from 20,999 rubles.It turns out with parity in terms of functionality and quality of cleaning, the Xiaomi gadget costs a little more – this is the main difference between the devices.If you wish, you can add 3,000 rubles to the cost of Mi Robot Vacuum-Mop 2 Pro.and get HONOR CHOICE Robot Cleaner R2 Plus version with self-cleaning station.This will be an interesting option for lazy users who do not like to empty the dust container immediately after cleaning.
Otherwise, during testing, I did not find any significant differences between the models.There are some small compromise features that are balanced between the total set of characteristics.Owners of other smart devices of the brand should pay attention to the Xiaomi model so as not to break the chain of the ecosystem.At the same time, HONOR CHOICE is the most interesting in terms of price-performance ratio.
