Due to the publication of well-known titles such as “Street Fighter 6” or the role-playing game “Dragon's Dogma 2”, analysts and experts were already expecting a successful fiscal year 2023/2024. Shortly before the publication of the annual report, Capcom confirmed the analysts' forecasts. In a recent announcement, the group announced that the profit forecast for the past fiscal year will be increased.

As Capcom announced, the publisher will increase its net sales forecast by 8.9 percent to the equivalent of 912.061 million euros. Capcom, in turn, increased its net profit forecast by 8.3 percent to the equivalent of 258.972 million euros.

A development that the company based in Osaka, Japan, attributes to the convincing sales figures of new titles such as “Dragon's Dogma 2” and “Street Fighter 6”. But according to the publisher, the catalog of older games also played its part in the successful 2023/2024 fiscal year.

“In our core digital content business, in addition to Street Fighter 6, the latest title in the Street Fighter series, which was well received worldwide, Dragon's Dogma 2 was also released in the fourth quarter and performed positively,” Capcom said in its statement.

The publisher continued: “In addition, sales of catalog titles, which consist primarily of earlier titles in major series, increased due to their continued popularity. Overall, we therefore assume that the income from this business will exceed our planning.”

The RPG sold in the first eleven days after release more than 2.5 million times. “Dragon's Dogma 2” was released on March 22, 2024 for the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

“Street Fighter 6” had three million buyers by January 2024. With “Street Fighter 6,” Capcom is pursuing ambitious goals and wants to sell ten million units in the long term.

Street Fighter 6 is available for PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
