Breaking Down, Recycling, and Storing Scrap in Fallout 4

Fallout 4 awakens the junk collector in you! Dismantling scrap has an important purpose in role-playing games. You can recycle all junk items and use them to build materials for building your settlements or for building weapons and armor. You can find scrap from defeated enemies, in all sorts of containers and in pretty much every corner of the Commonwealth. But you shouldn't sell scrap to the next dealer like in previous parts, but rather for modding your equipment or building your settlements. Dismantle and store scrap

Especially in the beginning, you'll be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of junk lying around the wasteland. So be smart and Follow these tips when collecting scrap:

Whenever you craft an item, be it a weapon, armor, tool or workshop item, the necessary materials from your inventory are used in the form of scrap. If the scrap has not yet been dismantled, the game does this automatically. In addition, materials from the associated workshop settlement are also used if you are in one.If you are missing a material, you can mark it for search using the Scrap tab of your Pipboy. This will cause a magnifying glass icon to appear next to scrap in the game world that contains the material you are looking for.It's worth dismantling scrap as soon as you find it. Because when disassembled, the materials don't weigh as much and you can carry more. Simply throw it on the ground in front of you in a workshop settlement and disassemble it into its individual components. At the beginning you should rare materials such as aluminum, oil, screws, glue and fiberglass for searchbecause these materials are most likely to become scarce over the course of the game. In each new workshop settlement, you should first look within the green marked boundaries for usable scrap that you can dismantle immediately. Scrap deliveries are a convenient way to get supplies.
