After Sven Vincke announced in March that Larian Studios will not develop another Baldur's Gatethe rumor mill is bubbling as to whether fans will still be happy with one Baldur's Gate 4 can be expected, but from the creative pen of a different developer. A possible film adaptation of Baldur's Gate 3 is also on the cards. But one question remains:

What is Larian Studios working on after Baldur's Gate 3?
In one Steam post, which details upcoming modding tools, new endings and planned content for Baldur's Gate 3, the studio revealed a brief look at what's to come. Currently located at Larian Studios two new games in the works, both of which are based on an in-house IP. This makes it clear once again that fans should not expect a return to the Dungeons and Dragons universe.
The studio attaches great importance to the freedom to pursue one's own creativity and has therefore decided to develop its own IPs. Although no further details have been revealed about the upcoming projects, Larian assured that fans remain tuned in Immersive gameplay with deep decision-making options can enjoy, as they are used to from previous games.

While the Larian Studios team assured that the strengths that made Baldur's Gate 3 so successful will also be integrated into the upcoming new games, founder Sven Vincke gave free rein to his euphoria and said enthusiastically that the upcoming project, based on the narrative and visual plans that best work ever will be.
The first pictures that have already been taken may not be shown until “everything works”. But they seem to be so good that Vincke says he is frustrated about having to keep them under wraps. The future of Larian Studios looks promising even without Baldur's Gate and we are excited to see when the first images of the new project will be released.
