Ahead of the iPhone 15 release, we’ve rounded up all of Apple’s new FineWoven cases. This is Apple’s new eco-friendly alternative to the popular leather cases, and we’ll keep it going.

The new cases are available in five new colors. Neither is particularly bright, sticking to the dark, muted natural tones that complement the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

We also reviewed the new MagSafe wallet, which has also been updated.

Apple’s new FineWoven case colors include Cypress, Black, Mulberry, Pacific Blue and Charcoal.

Apple continues its environmental policy by eliminating the use of leather in all of its products and even in its Apple Stores. FineWoven is an Apple replacement and can now be found in cases, AirTag cases, MagSafe wallets and Apple Watch bands.

In many ways, FineWoven is similar to the leather cases it replaces. The back has a depressed Apple logo in the center because of course they want the Apple branding.

The buttons are still made of aluminum and anodized to match the color of the case. Since we reviewed iPhone 15 Pro Max cases, they have an action button on the side.

Apple knows that button feel is important, so buttons, including the action button, move freely and make direct contact with the buttons they cover.

The microfiber interior has been replaced with FineWoven, which is now an updated soft material that fits snugly to the phone.

We were a little disappointed with the FineWoven material. It’s very soft, almost satiny, but seems to pick up dust easily. The sides of the case also resemble plastic, although they still have some texture.

The sides are one of the biggest differences. The leather cases were lined with leather around the edges and inside, and the new ones have clear separation on the back and sides.

However, in our limited testing, the new cases were more water resistant. They absorb water but dry without any damage.

FineWoven MagSafe wallet

In addition to the new cases, Apple has updated versions of its MagSafe wallets. As with the cases, there are no more leather options.

It’s available in the same five colors as the aforementioned FineWoven cases, and we picked one in Pacific Blue.

Unsurprisingly, the new wallet looks exactly the same. Lightweight velvety texture with a hole on the back to allow you to remove stored cards.

One nice addition is that this new texture increases the traction. Skin on skin will glide more easily.

This should prevent your wallet from accidentally falling out of your phone while it’s in your pocket.

Otherwise it’s the same case as last year, including limited Find My support.
