Amazon Prime series lets more games go through the roof

“Fallout” is a success on Amazon Prime and equally inspires the success of the underlying games. This makes the cash registers sound, as a current survey makes clear.

The “Fallout” series on Amazon Prime* has an effect that we have already seen in other productions of this type: While the TV show is based on a video game brand and gets more attention for that reason alone, the underlying games also benefit.

At the beginning of the week we reported on the games “Fallout 76”, “Fallout 4” and “Fallout New Vegas” and their access numbers on Steam got a decent boost, after the Prime series started. Figures are now also available for another game in the series.

At Fallout Shelter, revenue is bubbling up again

“Fallout Shelter” was initially released for mobile systems in 2015, before a PC version and later console ports followed. PS4 players have been there since June 2018. The number of downloads per day also increased over the three days – from around 20,000 on the day the series started to over 60,000. After just 24 hours, a 20 percent increase could be seen. In the USA, “Fallout Shelter” has now reached seventh place in the top free games charts on iOS. It's the highest ranking since June 2018, when the PS4 and Switch announcements gave a boost.

Full impact only in the coming weeks

Rachit Moti, founder and CEO of Layer, explains that “Fallout Shelter” in particular was able to benefit from the start of the series with the inclusion of new outfits and characters that are connected to the Amazon production. The same applies to “Fallout 76”.
