The Nintendo event that will finally delight fans of Hollow Knight Silksong?
Fans of Hollow Knight Silksong have been closely monitoring the next Nintendo Direct dedicated to independent games for several months now. Recall that it was during such an event that the sequel to one of the best metroidvanias of all time was announced. For months, however, their hopes were systematically disappointed. But as they say: hope gives life, and this maxim could be true this time. Nintendo has indeed announced a surprise Indie World lasting 20 minutes which will be held… tomorrow at 4 p.m. here! Has the moment that all fans have been waiting for so long finally arrived?
Hollow Knight Silksong has indeed been regularly talked about recently. It has notably appeared on the sly on various stores such as the Microsoft Store or Steam. Several classification bodies have also delivered their verdict concerning it. One of the last countries not to comment did so at the beginning of April. The Australian body, Australian country of the independent studio Team Chery, was thus the final obstacle to the release of the sequel to Hollow Knight.
After five years of waiting, finally the consecration?
As a reminder, Hollow Knight Silksong was announced in 2019, two years after the release of its illustrious predecessor. There was a time, its release was scheduled for early 2023. But Team Cherry's ambitions around its next creation obviously required more time than expected. The Australian independent studio has thus walled itself in silence to concentrate fully on this visibly colossal task.
Taking into account all the recent developments and some timidity from Team Cherry, the next Nintendo Indie World could finally be Hornet's time to shine. Let's hope for fans that they finally get the release date they've been dreaming of knowing for so long for Silksong. Remember that this extremely anticipated sequel will arrive… when it arrives on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.
