Żulin. The firefighters saved the goat. They used planks and rope

Two teams of firefighters took part in the rescue of a male roe deer who got stuck in a marshy area in the town of Żulin (Lubelskie). Only the head and back of the animal protruded above the level of the mud. One of the firefighters got to it thanks to a makeshift approach from the boards. After staying in a rehabilitation center, the goat was released into the wild.

On Tuesday (May 10), after 3 p.m., firefighters were notified of a goat – a young male roe deer – which was stuck in a marshy area in Żulin in the Krasnystaw district. – The animal entered the fish pond, from which the water was previously drained. After several dozen meters, it started wading in the mud and it was impossible to get out of there – says senior captain Kamil Bereza from the County Headquarters of the State Fire Service in Krasnystaw.

In the final of the action, the goat was released by a firefighter who, secured with a safety rope, got to the animal thanks to a makeshift approach from the boards that were alternately shifted.

The animal managed to be pulled ashore.

The goat soon found its way to the Wild Animal Rehabilitation Center in Skrzynice Drugie near Lublin, run by the Leśne Przytulisko Association.

– The goat was weak and cold. We assume he got stuck in the mud on Monday night. He was given drips and restorative drugs. The next day in the evening he was so strong that we set him free – says Lena Grusiecka, who runs the center.
