Zack Snyder’s Next Director’s Cut to Run an Epic 6 Hours!

Whether through 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel and many others, Zack Snyder's cinematic style is easily recognizable. However, he regularly fails to fully express his initial vision: the best example is undoubtedly that of Justice Leaguewhich he began directing before having to pass the torch to Joss Whedon (due to family drama, however).

Against all odds, the filmmaker managed to convince HBO of DC Comics to produce a new version, called “Zack Snyder’s Justice League”with new colorimetry, new editing, additional scenes and many more for a total duration… of four hours.

Very recently, the American informed the general public that he absolutely wanted to return to Sucker Punch, the 2011 action and science fiction film “which was never finished properly”. A Director's Cut somewhat in the pipeline: “I've already shot the footage. They just have to let me edit it. I ask every now and then, but we have to ask again and again”he declared to Empire.

And soon, it will therefore be the turn of… Rebel Moon.

Six hours or nothing

Sold as Netflix's Star Wars killer, Rebel Moon is a huge sci-fi project divided into two films: the first was released on December 22 and tells the story of a young woman with a mysterious past on a distant planet, caught up in a large-scale revolutionary conflict. The second part will be available on Netflix on April 19thus completing this space epic.

But what you need to know is that here too, Rebel Moon does not really represent Zack Snyder's original vision. So much so that the director reached an agreement from the start with the firm for the arrival of a Director's Cut later in the yearhe just told SensaCine.com.

Netflix said to me from the beginning, “Let’s do a director’s cut.” This is the first time I've made a film in which the director's version was constructed within the production, that's never happened.

“More violent and more sexual”this Director's Cut of Rebel Moon will be a total of six hours, however divided into two three-hour films (there will be a Director's Cut for each part). You will therefore be free to watch them one after the other when they are offered on the VOD platform: it will apparently be “during the summer” 2024as Snyder told Forbes.
