Yu-Gi-Oh!: Azamina & more – With Rage of the Abyss, the final core set of 2024 is now available!

With “Yu-Gi-Oh! Rage of the Abyss”, the last main set of 2024 is now available, which includes several coveted cards. We'll tell you what these are and what else the set has to offer in our short overview.

The year 2024 has brought “Yu-Gi-Oh!” fans some great sets and other products, for example “The Infinite Forbidden” or lastly the “Dueling Mirrors” tin box. With “Rage of the Abyss” The final core set of the year is now available as we plunge into the depths of the sea! This includes, among other things, a lot of new cards related to water monsters, for example number 32: Shark Dragon. That familiar “Yu-Gi-Oh!” Zexal” character Shark.

But that's not all, of course, because the set also offers brand new themes like Azamina as well as a lot of support for popular gaming topics. Among other things, players can: Centur-Ion, Mimighul and White Forest looking forward to new cards. Furthermore, old-school fans of the first “Yu-Gi-Oh!” anime will get their money’s worth with another new theme, as Bandit Keith’s metal shifter is getting an upgrade!

Stares into the abyss

In keeping with the “Zexal” character Shark just mentioned, we would like to focus on some new shark monsters next. These include the two level 4 monsters Emerging Megamouth and Drachling Shark as well as the level 3 monster Armored Shark. In keeping with these new powerful water monsters, you can also look forward to LeTugend Dragon, a strong rank 3 XYZ monster that has all sorts of practical tricks up its sleeve.

The cover monster has a special connection to the “Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal” figure, because the new rank 5 XYZ monster Number C32: Shark Dragon LeWeiß is a stronger version of Shark's favorite monster. To be more precise, this is a so-called chaos number, recognizable by the C suffix in the name. With a whopping 3100 attack points, this monster is a true force of nature that drags its unwary prey down into the depths.

In addition, two relatively new deck themes receive a bit of support. This includes, for example, the Millennium theme, which only received a new boss monster a few months ago with a new version of Exodia. With Heart of the Blue-Eyed The theme in Rage of the Abyss now gets its own special version of the Blue-Eyes W. Dragon. Why special? The monster is based on Yugi's grandfather's card, which Seto Kaiba once destroyed.

Just as fresh is the Fiend Blacksmith engine, which has been shaking up the competitive arena since its introduction. These cards are very powerful, especially with decks like Yubel and Snake Eye. The new level 4 effect monster Lacrima, the blood-red tears allows you, during your opponent's turn, to shuffle said card into the deck and Special Summon a Fiend Smith Link Monster from your Graveyard.

Additionally, fans of Sinful Prey and White Forest can look forward to new support in Yu-Gi-Oh! Rage of the Abyss”. We would particularly like to highlight the new one in this regard Azamina theme deckwhich is closely linked to the two previously mentioned topics as well as Diabellstar. Azamina is all about summoning powerful ones Illusion Fusion Monsterwhose effects are intended to interrupt the opponent's actions. The permanent magic card Deception and the Sinful Prey is particularly sought after and is one of the most valuable cards in the entire set.

But the last main set in 2024 also has something to offer for old-school “Yu-Gi-Oh!” fans. More specifically, cards that Bandit Keith and Joey Wheeler used during the Kingdom of the Duelists are getting a makeover. The classic trap card Metalshifter is now available as Max metal converter back and has more traps, a spell and several monsters like the red-eyed black full metal dragon.

With Six samurai A classic theme deck that revolves around powerful synchro monsters also receives fresh support. There are also new cards for other popular themes such as Goblin Biker or the TCG exclusive Mimighul. We would also like to mention what is certainly the most popular card from “Rage of the Abyss”: the effect monster Lovely Fuwaloswhich will have a significant impact on the game from now on.

So you can already see: There's a lot of stuff in the last “Yu-Gi-Oh!” main set of 2024, and we don't even have the two new Centur-Ion monsters Chimerea and Primera Primus and the new Fire King effect monster Courtier Ulcanix yet mentioned. In total The set includes 100 cardsten of which are included as Secret Rare and 14 as Ultra Rare. You can also get 24 cards as Quarter Century Secret Rare.

Konami was once again kind enough to give us a Yu-Gi-Oh! Rage of the Abyss” display. Our best pulls certainly include some of the new Azamina cards as Super Rares, Primeval Ore Imperial Dragon as Ultra Rares and the two Secret Rares Fire King Courtier Ulcanix and Heart of the Blue-Eyes.
