The twelve addons for Anno 1800 deserve a ranking from the GameStar community. That's why we have you as part of our Anno anniversary weeks vote on your favorites – and you delivered diligently. Thanks for that!

We agree on the winner. But when it comes to your last place, the Anno experts from our editorial team urgently need to talk!

This is what your addon ranking looks like

Your winner is also our previous winner in the ranking: Land of the Lions received 21 percent of all votes. The expansion was released in 2020 and brought African landscapes and objects into the game. The beautiful new region blended harmoniously into the base game and expanded it with exciting features, so it's no wonder that it won your favor.

2nd place follows a long way behind: Rise of the New World garnered 14 percent of your votes. place 3 Sunken Treasures is just behind (12 percent).

On the Places 4 to 5 there is a head-to-head race, which Speicherstadt wins by just a few votes against roofs of the city.

The bottom of your rankings forms the travel time addon, which has to be content with a single percent of your votes. You caused a surprise in the editorial team, we would have thought it would end up higher up – after all, it brought the new demographic of tourists who are crazy about exotic goods. And the Eiffel Tower!

The theory of our in-house Anno expert Fabiano is that despite all the cool innovations, travel time may have made the game too complex and therefore lost a lot of points with our community.

That's what you say in the comments

This time you were pretty quiet under the article – you've probably already squandered all your Anno powder under our numerous new articles and updates during the theme week?

Jean-Luc1988 shares our surprise when it comes to travel time and would even have swapped winners and losers:

Travel time in last place with 1%? I wouldn't have thought. For me, that's where Land der Löwen belongs, which landed here with a lead of 1st place. 🙁 Always included, but rarely if ever actually visited and set up. Number 1 roofs of the city, then travel time, and then the rise of the new world. Kingdom of the Skies and Land of the Lions all the way down.

Dr_Zoidberg, on the other hand, found the decision very difficult:

A best of many good add-ons… it was the introduction of Cape Trelawney (Sunken Treasures?), the harbor space-saving Speicherstadt, the roofs of the city for enormous population growth, the very practical seed of hope in the New World, the airships from the Empire of the skies, the rise of the New World, or simply one or two small Schönbauer packages?

I don't know which addon is the best, but for my taste Season 4 is the most helpful for a large empire.

Okay, I'll decide on the roofs of the city, that turned my late game to the left again. But it's just one of various good DLCs.

Thanks again for taking part in our survey! Our own ranking of all addons is currently being updated, you will find it soon on GameStar. Until then, we not only have a new special issue for Anno's birthday, but also many exciting guides, mod ideas and more. You can find a few linked above.
