The weekend is just around the corner or, depending on when you get off work, already in your hallway. That alone is a reason to be happy, but it gets even better: You can even still try out games for free on Steam!
This week there are only two pieces, but they have a lot to offer. Because with Crusader Kings 3 and Company of Heroes 3 we are dealing with two strategy highlights that seem to be made for the taste buds of our community.

A paradox game
we could write and with that a majority of you would already know what to expect in Crusader Kings 3. The global strategy games from the publisher Paradox have been an integral part of the genre for years, but beginners are often put off by the complexity.
It's good that you can try it out for free this weekend. In Crusader Kings 3 you experience large parts of the Middle Ages from the perspective of your own dynasty, which you lead to fame and power. The role-playing aspect comes into play when it comes to the members of your clan.
Each character has their own strengths and weaknesses in the areas of diplomacy, administration, intrigue and education, which result from individual personality traits. How you proceed is therefore up to you. Would you rather negotiate or attack with your army? Anyone who gets involved here will have weeks or even months of fun.

Company of Heroes 3 on Steam
The great strength of Company of Heroes 3 is the staging of the well-known World War events. In the missions you fight dynamically against the AI for individual sectors in order to ultimately achieve victory. Instead of huge armies, you command clear squads, which means that every single soldier is really important.
In addition to an African campaign, which is essentially a classic, linear campaign with eight missions, the game also offers a mode set in Italy that is very reminiscent of the Total War series. We make our move on a world map in rounds, and you then fight the battles in real time.
The pretty graphics and the very good balancing based on the well-known and proven rock-paper-scissors principle round off the package to a very atmospheric and intense experience.
Destiny 2 lets you play the three latest addons for free
The next big add-on called The Final Shape for the multiplayer shooter Destiny 2 will be released in June 2024. In order to attract as many new players as possible before the release, Sony has decided to give you for a whole month (May 7th to June 3rd) to provide free access to the three previous addons.
In the coming weeks you can experience the stories of The Witch Queen, Beyond Light and Shadowkeep for free. If you also happen to have an active PlayStation Plus subscription, you can also get the current chapter Lightfall for free.

And what about GOG and Epic?
