No more than four years of system updates
The mobile market has changed in recent years and the differences between one year's top models and last year are often marginal. Xiaomi has in many ways standing outside.
In addition to the fact that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is a fantastic camera mobile, Xiaomi has also managed to improve several details since its predecessor came just a year ago and the benefits are clear. This does not affect you as a mobile buyer very much, because who changes the phone every year today, but it manifests that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is the best camera mobile.

There are several building blocks that together help make the Xiaomi 15 Ultra into such a good camera, but most are gathered in the significantly large camera island on the back. Xiaomi 15 Ultra makes no secret that here the camera functions are in the center and this year the whole look has even adopted the form more of a classic Leica camera. My test copy mixes fiberglass and cheat on the back, but there are also variants that are full -black or white.
Entum sensor
Very central to the camera experience is the main camera equipped with a sensor of the entum type. We also saw this in the predecessor and that is the basis for images with more natural depth of field and convincing detail reproduction. It convinced us when we named the precursor to last year's best camera mobile. This year Xiaomi has taken further steps. With a 200 megapixel sensor to the telecommunications camera, a sensor that other mobiles often use for the main camera, the ability to take good pictures at longer distances is expanded, better zoom simply. A new color sensor makes a clear difference when it comes to sharpening the color rendering further. I notice it when, for example, I take pictures of red strawberries in a red bowl. Many phones are deceived by it and turn the color rendering wrong, but not Xiaomi 15 ultra.
Experience that is growing
When I first got the Xiaomi 15 ultra in my hand, I was not entirely convinced. Admittedly, it was the first impression that it was a refined version, with the new Leica-inspired look, but in terms of function it took a while to discover all opportunities. The predecessor Xiaomi 14 Ultra was the first of Xiaomi's camera-focused ultra models released in Sweden and was therefore just a major progress compared to Xiaomi's previous models here and compared to many of the competitors. We had seen mobiles with Entumssensor before, from Xiaomi, Sony and other manufacturers, but the ambition search was still evident.

With a large sensor you get more information in each image and even if the depth of field is then created on a virtual way, the result will be better. Especially portraits will be first class with the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and you can, just like in many other phones, change the Bokeh effect even after you take the picture.
This year, it is clear that Xiaomi was looking at Samsung to find which areas you wanted to improve within. For several years, Samsung has had extreme zoom in its flagships and with its new telephone and sensor of 200 megapixel, the idea is that the Xiaomi 15 Ultra will surpass the competitor.
A lot of camera but even mobile

The extensive camera house on the phone draws eyes, but can also make the phone difficult to make good contact with wireless chargers. We support wireless charging in 80W and slightly faster cord -bound charge of 90W but a charger is not included. Under the shell there is a generous battery and throughout the test period the battery life is clearly approved. Like most other flagships today, the phone is obviously run by Snapdragon 8 Elite. This, together with a quick screen update and an excellent optimized system, makes the phone always feel fast and responds without delay. Especially performance -intensive tasks can make the phone tangible, but during the two weeks I tested it has never gone so far that it has meant a problem.
Unique experience and ai
Xiaomi 15 Ultra comes with Android 15 with promises from Xiaomi to update the operating system 4 years. It is less than, for example, Samsung and Google and a few more years would be preferred. The interface that Xiaomi uses calls the Hyper OS and it has for some years replaced the old Miui, although the similarities are very many and it is mostly a change of name.

Within the framework of Hyperos, which is the chance for Xiaomi to offer something uniquely software compared to other Andorid manufacturers, there are its own apps and AI functions. These interact so that you can edit your images with AI in the photo gallery that also works the content against Google Photo if you wish. You can remove unwanted motifs in your pictures. Reduce reflections, change the sky and expand an image all with the help of AI. In addition, there is Google's Circle to Search to search for something that appears on the screen without having to change the app and here is Google Gemini.

I would not say that AI is a reason to choose the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. But I would, on the other hand, claim that AI is generally in a starting stage and should not decide any telephone purchase today. When I use Hyper AI for help writing invitations, it first responds in Italian that it cannot help me with just that. When I then specify that I want the answer to Swedish, it goes well. I get an invitation, but then when I use the voice recorder to transcribe a meeting, however, there is no Swedish language support. However, some thirty other languages. Among these English, German, French, Japanese and Chinese. It works well when I try to record and then let AI transcribe and summarize in those languages. In fact, Xiaomi also has its own AI interpreter so I can translate real-time speech in any app. It is a bit difficult to find the feature. I must first activate a toolbar and then wrap it up when I'm in the video meeting or conversation. Then it works well anyway, between all the thirty languages available.
Easy to appreciate

The cameras are and remain the most impressive in the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and Xiaomis and Leica's efforts here really bear fruit. There are many times when I sit and compare pictures that I am surprised by the incredible quality. The feeling is often more like that from a system camera than an image taken with a mobile. It is really only the wide -angle position that stands out a bit in this context and does not have the same first -class even quality.
Xiaomi and Leica have also succeeded well with the camera app itself. No professional photography skills are required to take good pictures here. In PRO mode you can adjust manual focus, shutter speed and white balance, but there is nothing required to take really good pictures.
Questions and answers
How durable is the phone?
It is water and dust-resistant (IP68), it has protective glass for the screen in the form of Xiaomi's own protective glass and gorilla ice cream 7i over the camera body. The frame is in aluminum.
What's more to say?
Xiaomi releases an accessory for the phone, a special camera concept with trigger you can keep down to half to focus and with a built -in battery pack. However, it has a fairly deterrent price of SEK 9999.

Are there active lock screen?
Yes, the screen holds high class. It has both really high brightness, good in direct sunlight, and so -called Always on display so I can get notifications, time and the like even in the hibernation.
An alternative
It does not keep the same level in camera terms at all, but even OnePlus 13 has camera focus, then with the help of Hasselblad instead of Leica, a significantly lower price and fast performance with Snapdragon 8 Elite, so it can be a cheaper alternative.
