Xbox is pleased to announce today that the Xbox Games Showcase this year will take place on Sunday June 9 at 7 p.m. (French time). Like last year's double presentation, with the Starfield DirectXbox will broadcast, immediately after the show, the [Redacted]* Direct. This presentation will offer a special dive into the next installment of a beloved franchise.

THE Xbox Games Showcase this year will feature games from all of its studios for the first time ever, including Activision, Blizzard, Bethesda And Xbox Game Studiosas well as titles from third-party partners.

Players will be able to follow the two broadcasts live, subtitled in French, on June 9 on the various Xbox FR channels (Youtube And Twitch).

What to remember? First, that this presentation will also contain games from Activision and Blizzard, whose acquisition was finalized last year. So expect to see the next annual Call of Duty on this date, with the central question: will the game be available in GamePass upon release?

The other issue is to know which mysterious game will be entitled to a detailed presentation. Among the candidates, we imagine Avowed, planned for this end of the year, but which we have already seen a lot. This could be the reboot of Fable, in development for a very long time, but about which very little is known. However, these games are already known, so Microsoft might have clarified in its invitation that it would be them. These could therefore be announced games that we have never seen before, such as The Elder Scrolls VI or the reboot of Perfect Darkor unannounced games, like the next Call of Duty (is it really worth it) or, above all, a new Gears of War.

This last option seems both the least and the most likely. The most likely, because The Coalition is very reliable in terms of frequency of game releases and the last Gears was already five years ago. The next opus could therefore be announced during the conference, shown in detail immediately afterwards and released at the end of the year. The Gears license is also one of Xbox's historic franchises, which would justify the importance given to it.

However, on the other hand, The Coalition's two Gears of War games not only sold poorly, but they also sold less and less: Gears 5 went completely unnoticed. The logical reaction would have been to put the franchise in the fridge for a while, but perhaps The Coalition imagined a new beginning for its franchise, like what Sony Santa Monica with God of War. Verdict on June 9.
