The second trailer for the film Deadpool & Wolverine shows more images of the big bad, played by Emma Corrin. She will play Cassandra Nova, who is a bit like Professor Xavier's evil twin.
Marvel has revealed a second trailer for Deadpool & Wolverine. It shows many more images of the superhero played by Hugh Jackman, “recruited” by Deadpool to save the world. Among other things, the unlikely duo will have to do battle with a villain played by Emma Corrin. The actress will lend her features to Cassandra Nova, a name that will speak to fans of comics and more particularly of the X-Men.

In the mutant universe, Cassandra Nova is considered “the evil twin” of Professor Xavier. It is a powerful enemy, which has all the characteristics to become the great threat of Deadpool & Wolverine. It would thus justify the fact that Deadpool is obliged to turn to Wolverine (which version?) to “save the world”, a task that he does not wish to accomplish by his own admission.
Cassandra Nova is the evil twin sister of Professor Xavier
Professor Xavier almost had a twin sister. First appeared in 2021 (New X-Men #114), Cassandra Nova is an astral entity, a sort of parasite who attempted to copy Xavier's body and DNA while he was still in his mother's womb. The mutant was able to fight back with his abilities, leaving Cassandra Nova without an entire vessel at birth, until she could recover one.
Cassandra Nova is a bit of the antithesis of Professor Xavier, devoting immeasurable hatred to everything he has built and, also, to mutants (she is not one). She is at the origin of a genocide of more than 16 million individuals, who populated the island of Genosha, which she attacked with Sentinels – immense robots very gifted at tracking down mutants.
As she copied Xavier's genome, she has the same powers: telepathy (manipulation of the mind) and telekinesis (manipulation of objects). It is also capable of assimilating DNA and passing from one body to another. She is therefore particularly difficult to kill, knowing that she also has a very effective regenerative factor – like Wolverine and Deadpool, in fact.

Who will Cassandra Nova really be in Deadpool & Wolverine ? No one can say, knowing that the film exploits the concept of the multiverse and that, therefore, anything is possible. Perhaps she will play her own role, that of a villain who wants to destroy everything. Perhaps she will be Professor Xavier, in an evil version, from a dimension that Wolverine and Deadpool will visit in the film. In any case, it risks causing serious problems for the two friends. In the trailer, we see Wolverine grappling with Cassandra Nova, able to make him kneel with thought, simply by waving his arms. If it turns out to be as formidable as in the comics, then Deadpool and Wolverine are not at the end of their sentence.
