which videos marked the year 2021?

On the application, the videos are numerous. But which were the most popular with French users?

It’s the end of the year! After a particularly fruitful year 2020 for TikTok, which has found a prominent place on French smartphones during the various lockdowns, the Chinese platform has continued to entertain its few 14.1 million French users. Before entering 2022, the social network offers a small retrospective of the most popular content.

PSG at the top of the ranking

We told you a few days ago that OM was among the favorite clubs of Tinder users. On TikTok, it is PSG who won the title of champion of social networks. The club is followed by no less than 21 million subscribers. One of their video has also largely invested the For you. It has been shared over 87,000 times and loved by 10 million people.

In France, the two other most popular videos were produced by Tuvok12 (which invites passers-by to play basketball) and Antigravity (extreme sportsman). Among the rising stars, Diego Alary takes first place. The chef is followed by more than 2.5 million people.

Justin Bieber breaks the internets

The world’s most popular video is unsurprisingly American. It is the ToTouchanemu video which has been viewed more than 314 million times. The man filmed himself with a drone dancing to the music of Justin Bieber and The Kid LAROI. The sound was then incorporated into no less than 8.4 million videos around the world.

Musical artists of the year

Music plays an essential role on TikTok, whether it’s for dancing or just for giving rhythm to your videos. Most often, the latter are associated with challenges, which the creators must realize. For the music of Justin Bieber, the goal was to reproduce the sway of ToTouchanemu. But these titles well known to the public are not the only ones causing a sensation on the social network. Several content creators shared their musical creation and thus met their audience. This is the case of Supermassivemusic which made the world dance with its cover of Levels d’Avicii. But famous strangers aren’t the only ones who use TikTok to meet their community. Even David Guetta indulged in the exercise and shared the video of his mix on the forecourt of the Louvre.
